![]() ![]() | Weird DNS Issue So I had a domain on park at Sedo. 2 days ago, I pulled it off and started to develop it. DNS propogated fine to the new host. However, for some reason every now and then, my site reverts back to its parking page. I check the whois and its still pointed to the proper hosting. I cannot figure out why it keeps gonig back. after an hr or 2, it comes back to my real site. Anyone had this issue or know whats going on? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Could be the primary name server is unavailable, and the secondary is not propagated properly (or yet). It could also be a router somewhere in between with outdated DNS data. It could also be archived page data being served from a cache or proxy server in between (such as at your ISP).

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm guessing its just DNS caching at your ISP, like Adoptable mentioned. Usually will resolve itself within 8-12 hours of the DNS change. Also remember that visiting http://example.com is different than visiting http://www.example.com so if you visited one before the DNS change, and the other after the DNS change your ISP may still have the old IP address for the first one until it rechecks it 8-12 hours later.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It's probably not your cache, but your ISP. You can clear yours from your brower Options menu. I've heard a few ISP's, particularly AOL sometimes cache pages for a week or more to reduce their bandwidth requirements. You can ask them how to refresh the page or bypass the cache.
