Kidding :-) Not sure of the going rate for 4-number .com's, but if I owned it I would search out every mid to large company that had those numbers in their address (ex: 9406 Hollywood Blvd.) or as the last four digits of their phone number. You may get some good bites that way.

Just the going rate for 4 number .com's (Which i'm not 100% sure on atm)

If it was something like 1965 then it'd be a different story

well the rarity value of a 4 number domain name is 10*10*10*10 = 1/10000.
This is better than a 3 letter domain name 26*26*26 = 1/17576.
So in theory a random 4 number domain name should be worth more than a rubbish 3 letter domain name ie 9406.com should be worth more than qcj.com

That logic doesn't hold water though, because random numbers have less significant meanings and are less memorable than random letters. Random letters are often acronyms for company names, which make them much more valuable than numbers. There are a few exceptions of course, like 007.com that has a specific meaning.

I was assuming for arguments sake a meaningless 3 letter domain name name versus a meaningless 4 number domain name. I guess that there is an always an outside chance that the meaningless 3 letter name means something to someone on this planet....

8 is a lucky number for Chinese people. 888 is very good.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=84695
3 is not particularly lucky but looks like an 8,
888888.com not available, but 333888 maybe next best thing.
In Hong Kong red light area, clubs will often have numbers similar to 338 or 388 outside on display.
domain 888.com would probably be one of the most valuable domain names of all. It would fetch $x,xxx, xxx more than likely.
4 unlucky, 14 very unlucky = death. Chinese apartment block elevators often do not have floors 4, 13, 14, 24, 34 etc
