| Account Closed | Not much. Maybe a little tiny bit over registry fee. For the first time in quite some time, I bought a web2 name, only because it was dirt cheap and for some reason, when I went to bed that night, I fitted about it so when I woke up the next morning and saw it still there (just dropped into the bin from auction), I grabbed it. .com Kaz123ada (remove the 123- presently pending in-transfer). I actually like it better than if it were one letter shorter, like Kazad... Apparently, Sharman Networks (the operators of the old Kazaa p2p) are letting a bunch of their defensive registrations go. A lot of them- registered in the early 2000's- are actually quite good considering how few names like this are available in the registry space. Check the bin for several of these names on the cheap (look for (C)a(C)a(C)a names, probably involving the letters KAZ). It seems their drop cycle is like right now and only a few were left when I last checked. Last edited by Dongsman; 11-19-2009 at 12:47 AM. |

| NamePros Member | it is ok name for some uses. Don't see much value for resale though. I would not register it for the following reasons: - association with vodka - not clear how to pronounce it. - If somebody did pronounce it, would have problems spelling it. fudka? foodka? fadka? fudca? foodca? footka? fatka? |

If I were to develop a p2p and use the name in question for that, they may have a legitimate tizzy. In this case, it's a name that they themselves let expire, that has ancillary uses as a brandable, pronounceable name platform irrespective of "Kazaa" , their operations or whatever distant phoenetic similarity the name might exhibit to their trademark. If that's the case, I guess Warren Weitzman will have to surrender Coquina.com to Coke. As I'm sure you can guess- unlike the previous respondent- I would not 'fail to respond'. I think a TM issue with them is next to impossible, though, for a number of reasons, chief amongst them being that Kazaa is now pretty much totally irrelevant and if they were willing to spend $1500 to WIPO these names upon re-registry, I'm fairly certain they would've spent $8 to renew them.
