The domain hoplive.com expires july 6th and i just realized that this regitrar has a rip off for the renew price at $19.99 is it worth paying that fee or is this domain worth the renew fee or even less?

I think it is worth renewing, not a high priced domain name but has potential and is a dot com, some less attractive names sell for alot more eg.
ligle.com 600dollars at sedo
should have no problem getting your money back in time

$20 is high for renewals. Which registrar are you using?

I used Namescout.com
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-appraisals/594394-hoplive-com-worth-20-renew-fee.html

I actually didn't have access to the internet yesterday so couldn't renew it at $19.99 and now it $25 so I am going to let it drop. Might be missing out on something here but I have a lot of other renewals coming up for more valuable domains.

Why don't you just transfer your names to another registrar? Many of the most popular registrars charge you half of that price. Name.com is an example.

It would only end up saving around $5 if I transferred it. Transfer Fee + Renew fee = ~$16.

Not worth the hassle and anyways I don't think I am allowed to transfer the domain within 60 days of it expiring. Regardless, its gone from my account. =P
