I just checked out funk.me. I had a look at the recent sales as well as the current offers which were posted for various .me domains.
Guess what.... Of all the entries on the homepage including the "Showcase Entries" that had "offers", 12 out of 15 were listed by either "sales@funk.me" or "sales1", 2 were listed by "jmarden" and 1 by "JoshuaPz"
Upon further investigation, it appears that "sales@funk.me" has well over 350 listings, and "sales1" has about 90 listings. (not all have offers..)
Almost every other entry that was listed by an "individual" had no offer...although, there were a few.
Maybe, sellers have an option to keep their name anonymous, which would account for the huge one sided "sales/offers stat" ???
I am not sure if this is the correct section either. I observed the same. However, I gave funk.me the benefit of the doubt and hoped that perhaps their system automatically defaults to the sales@funk.me email whenever a bid is placed. I think this may help the site keep track of legitimate sales and "their commission" that is due.
I cannot really explain why sales1@funk.me is also a top seller on the site. I did think that perhaps they are employed by funk.me and aid in monitoring legitimate offers and commission collections.
I chose to take a positive approach to this. I do think its very observant and smart of you to take notice to this. I noticed the same thing and had questions as well. However, I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt. There are several great names on the site. They have spent some money on advertising (although it could use some more promoting), so for now I am willing to role with it.
The great thing about funk.me is that its free. Even though I would be willing to be listed on the home page for 30 days at a VERY LOW PRICE. I am talking under $10 bucks and a discount for multiple names. At least until .me picks up in legitimate follow through sales. Right now your name can be featured in rotation FREE of charge. That's really cool. I think that's what makes NP so great. They offer a great service for FREE with the opportunity to purchase items and services.
There are some good offers on the table at funk.me and I am surprised that a few of the sellers have not yelled...DEAL! Overall, you have made a Good observation. Lets hope for the best!! I think thier willingness to buy so many .me names demonstrates their personal belief in the product they are marketing.
That's just my opinion. I don't own the patten on accurate reasoning. So I ask what do you all think about sauceys observation?

I really hope the site does do well, but honestly, some of the asking prices are just downright silly and I think that's going to hurt the site more than help it. Just my opinion, flame away if you must.

I noticed a few sales by funk me are listed on dn journal monthly report, and they are decent prices. But now the question has been brought up, how do we know who is buying them? Maybe Biddersup is right about giving them the benefit of the doubt. The one thing that is always at the back of my mind is : Many of the respected members on this forum repeatedly give appraisals on ME domains which are nowhere near the current bids at Funk me. If the bids are genuine then we should soon see a massive sale at Funk me for a domain that would be valued at a few hundred dollars on this forum. I am watching the situation with interest.
I have all of my .me's listed on Funk.me, and I am very pleased with the exposure my domains are getting, and the communications I've had with the site owner Nikolas Gough.
I had an offer on one of my domains the second day it was listed on the site. Collectively, each of my .me's have had more views in the few days they've been listed on Funk.me, than they've had collectively in the 3.5 months they've been at Sedo.
I haven't completed a sale there, but I have no reason to doubt the seriousness of the offer I've received, nor any reason to think that Funk.me is anything but a great marketplace for .Me domains.
I've never asked for an appraisal of my .Me domains in a forum or otherwise. If you're interested in an appraisal of your domain - stick it out there for the market to decide. Unless it comes with an offer to purchase, backed with cash, most appraisals are an intellectual exercise - especially in a ccTld as new as .Me. It is important to remember that to make a market you have to a willing seller and a willing purchaser for value, making an arms length transaction.
Even though you see some domains on Funk.me with strong offers to purchase, and asking prices that some may consider silly, I believe that Funk.me is one of the most transparent domain marketplaces available, and certainly the most important venue for .Me domains. I believe that the most of the prices listed there represent the value of the domains well, and will be borne out by the great successes ahead for .Me. The fact that most of the domains are offered by a couple of sellers is evidence of just how new the market is, and also that these sellers have a large portfolio of great domains.
As markets become more transparent, specialized, and liquid, market participants are able to trade at prices that are much closer to a true market price for what's being traded. Funk.me is specialized in that it is a market solely for .Me. Funk.me provides great transparency because of the large number of Asking Prices listed, and the fact that the current offers are listed. Domains using Sedo's 'Make an offer' method don't show this information. Also, Funk.me provides a mechanism for trader feedback. Finally, Funk.me is gaining liquidity by targeting people interested in .Me through PR and advertising.
When I signed up to sell my domains at Funk.me, I was excited to have my domains listed at such a focused market for great .me domains. For my money, the 12% commission is a bargain. Also, from what I can tell, it looks like the commissions are invoiced to sellers, which requires a great amount of trust on the part of Funk.me. While I'm sure the site will prove to be a profitable venture for it's owner on a sales and commissions basis, I believe it's true accomplishment will be elevating the status and values of all .Me domains.

I agree that knowing who is bidding on the names would be good. In my opinion it would increase the confidence of potential buyers. The potential buyer will see that others see the benefits of investing in .me. It may not be necessary to know personal information about the buyer. However, it would just be nice to know their Id or user name. It would also let the sellers know if we are dealing with one buyer or numerous buyers who see the value in our product.
After reading all comments, both in this thread and elsewhere, I have decided to apply to sell on Funk me. There is everything to gain and nothing to lose from what I can see. The listing is free, transactions are handled by yourself through Escrow, and the commission is reasonable. As Gunner Steele has already pointed out, this platform is focused on the me extension only, has already achieved some good sales and looks to be going places. I wish everyone good luck with this new platform especially the ones who were first to take the plunge ie:- Biddersup, Gunner Steele and posters in the other threads.
I also noticed that "most offered" domains are listed by sales @ funk.me but nonetheless I believe it's a great site to get your .Me domains exposed at
