| Chinese name with Alexa ranking I've been into domaining for a few months now, mostly picking out my own names with some success.I've had 4 sales ,3 in the $XXX.
But lately I've been checking out deleting names, and I managed to get one that dropped today that has a 2.8 Million Alexa ranking.
It's Xiari.net,and apparently it's a popular name/word in China.
(The Alexa ranking for xiari.cn.st is 267!) All of the online translators I've tried don't have a match,so I have no idea what it means,if anything.
My question is,how much traffic can I expect from a 2.8 mil ranked domain? Also how would I place Chinese ads on it?
And finally how much could it be worth?
Any insight whatsoever would be beneficial to me on this one.Thanks. |

| Hi Matt,
It's difficult to sell a .net domain to China market.

| Thanks for the input everyone.I have to say I didn't think there was such a thing as a bad Alexa ranking.I just figured if it was ranked,it's getting traffic and was a decent investment for $8.
I just picked up a domain that dropped today that ranks 468,753 with Alexa.I thought that was exceptional.Where is the cutoff for what's generally considered a good/bad Alexa ranking?
You would think considering China is the most populated country that there would be a pretty big market.I realize my chances of making a sale are slim.but at least I want to figure out a way to get some Chinese ads on the parked page and see what happens. |

| My rule of thumb is... unless the name is exceptional in it's own right... I don't even look at ranks over 5 figures.
That's just my guideline...
Good Luck
