contest over, once again a GREAT winning design with stiff competition.

hi sir this is just a suggestion, but you are asking alot for a lot of work, 2 banners and a logo, i dont think many of the designers will enter with such a low prize amount, but thats just my $0.02

point taken steadler, and i can understand if many developers choose to focus on bigger prize contests instead.

regarding it being "alot to ask", the winners of previous contests usually made the banners after the contest for $5-$10, so i figured i would simplify the process and just lump it all together from the get-go... and i am not expecting (or even wanting) some unique design for the banners, just resizing/rearranging the elements if need be.

anywho, the prize is $40... if noone is interested for that amount i will just have it done privately, but i really like the variety of ideas that a contest brings, so hope that it is worth the while for a few of ya...

have prepare already 2 flash banners (can be in HTML as well) with a starting animation (then they stand still)

Isn' t the size of banners too small though?

It is entirely up to the contest holder what he or she offers as a prize, and whether or not you are willing to do the work is up to you. If your not interested in taking part then please do not comment in someones thread.

I have always been more than satisfied with the winning design, and usually am in conflict picking one as several are to my liking for the money.

regarding the banners, they don't HAVE to be flash or animated, plain old static is ok, but if you have an idea for animation great, however my top emphasis is on the logo.

thanks for kicking it off thetruman, and an interesting idea but the robot looks more like a spaceman....

anyone have a design based on my original idea? other ideas and tangents are certainly welcome, but would like to see something as i described, with a fun robot on left, a uppercase N being used in an equation over the bot.com part.....

neo: of your 2 i like the blue&gold one most (the black one looks too much like an eight ball) but the face is a bit odd to me and i keep wanting to tilt my head one way or the other to see if it's a letter. and i think i am pretty sure i want the robot to be on the very left of a LARGE N (at least twice as big as the bot.com part), maybe leaning on it or simply next to it. but.... you ARE the master of characters coming out of an O and, when i look at the design again and again, i do like it in the O too (at least with this design), so perhaps seeing it both ways? this one is certainly playful but the hands look like a bit too much like it's making fun (neener neener etc). This one has great potential and i am looking forward to modifications on this or a similar spin off!

JanineXD: thanks for the entry! i like the capital N and small bot, which is what i am after (bot doesnt have to be lower case but should be smaller than the N). the colors are a nice contrast to each other but a bit plain. not to keen on the lines over bot either, and i do want .com to be included. i really appreciate the view of a banner, and i like it's style! on everyone/in general:

I want the N to be capital and BIGGER than the bot.com part.
i envisioned the robot on the very left but, as neo did, if it works coming out of the O or in some other position without making the logo too tall, go for it.
.com must be included on the same line or, if on a second line, small.
i want the robot to be fun, but not goofy looking.

regarding the tagline: i want it to be N = whatever I want! in a fun (but readable!) robot like font, like it is computing (an equation for example) or a thought bubble. if you have another idea, love to see it, but that's how I see it "making sense"; an N bot which searches for whatever you want.

thanks for the entries so far and see already that i will wind up with another swell design with the talent here on NP!

mindseye- GREAT to have you in on the contest and that is a FANTASTIC design! only a few things i see to change:
the tv screen is a bit TOO cluttered with lines and makes "bot" difficult to read. i like the effect of the lines, but perhaps fewer/or a different pattern and maybe a bigger/mmore readable font (although i DO like the unique style of font used now.... just want it recognizable. i couldn't really see how you used the tagline (as is cutoff), but i am pretty sure i want it either as a thought-cloud, an equation playing off the larger N or printed on a strip of paper coming out of the robot (like an old calculator or something). a wonderful design and tied with neo as of now.

neo- thanks for the revisions! i like the robot more and, with your design, it really DOES fit in the O nicely. i like the blue/orange combi bettter than the plain blue. interesting use of the comp screen to put .com.... on one hand i really like it but on the other hand wonder if it is present enough to be seen as part of the url... leave as it is for now. the only real thing i want worked on is making the talgine more interesting/integrated (as suggested previously and in my feedback for mindseye above).... a great design once again, neo!
