[REQ-TEMPLATE Design] $150

Type of Contest : Website
Prize : $150! (Paypal)
Contest End Date & Time : 1PM GMT : April 18th 2007
Size Requirements : Full width!! I want a ton of space for content!
Color Requirements : Read Below

What Sites I like:
http://www.realballers.com
http://msn.foxsports.com/nba (except using the whole browser I hate white spaces on the side)

General Requirements :
These sites are sports sites. NFL, NBA, and MLB. I want to use this template and be able to change the banner, and the with CSS change the colors to each one to match team colors easily.

Here is one of our sites(so you can see why we need change): www.celticsnews.com

As you can see everything is CLUTTERED. There is no room to maneuver anywhere and add other content. I also have Divs and Frames on there and I don't want those at all on these.

On the homepage I need:

An Image for the main story. With space for a small description.
Small spot for other images and descriptions for previous storys and blogs.
A news feed for spot for the latest news.
A spot for small mix video for youtube..a small one not normal video size.
A spot for a small wallpaper previews, maybe in a scroll bar?
I want a GOOD spot for a google ad to maximize profit earnings.
I need a decently big spot for our text link advertisers. If you go to that celtics site you'll see how I have them and how many...I need it to be better then than that as I want them get seen and clicked for them.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/design-contests/315653-req-template-design-150-a.html
I need a row on the site very visible to go to other team sites. Please refer back to celticsnews.com(on right side) and see how I have text links up of Atlanta Hawks/Boston Celtics and so on for every team in the league. I want the sites to all have that and that is important.

Navigation:
I don't want image navigation. I want to be able to edit and change it and add more to it in the future if I need to. Right now I want:
Home
Forum
Blog
Roster
Schedule
Standings
Tickets
Affiliates
Contact

Additional Information : Please make sure its setup so it will be easy to edit the images and colors in mind to use as a template to all of my sites. I want something clean, catchy yet professional. Please remember to use the full page like the realballers site does. If you code the template or are able to code the template, it could make a big difference in picking you if it's close in picking one. If you won't code it for free if you win and can code, please state an additional cost you'd want to code it when selected. if you can;t code..thats fine..still submit your entries!

If you have any questions regarding this please ask. I am hoping for a lot of interest!

P.S You can probably do the Celticsnews.com site as main template and then I will know where the colors and stuff will go.

I organized each of the main sections and put them in their correct places. Tell me what you think.

P.S: the navigation uses default browser font and you can change it easily by using html because its not a image.

Nice work man thanks for the entry. I do like it. A few things seem out of place and messy, mostly the text ads and what not.

Would like a bit more flare to it as well, I dunno..somethings missing.

I like that as well. Appreciate the entry. The only problem I have with it is that i want to be able t use the template for the other sports sites. I want to just be able to change the CSS or whatever colors easily, to be able to do that..and just replace the banner. If under the wavy line was the end of the banner and it was all one image though, and could be easily replaced..that would probably work. I like how you used multiple greens as well. You also aligned things nicely and cleanly.

Thanks for the 2 entries guys!

I haven't been blown away yet though, anybody got any more entries comin ?

I like it for space and management. However, i'm more than likely gonna get any banner used on these replaced anyway..and after that it's just a basic 3 column table it would seem, which isn't a huge bad thing, but i'd like some kind of spice with it maybe as you go further down the page I guess.

yeah i tried to keep it as simple as possible, since if i add too much details and stuff you wont be able to adjust it easily.. i'll try some other stuff..

Here is my entry, as promised
The attachment is 85% quality and watermarked.

Silverblade

ps. I am not able to code, but it should be an easy task to have the middle column auto expand (current banner is expandable as well, due to patern).

Here's my entry. It will be coded in valid XHTML/CSS for no extra charge if I win.

The layout is designed with few images, so changing the colors for different teams will be extremely easy. The only image you'd have to change to change the color is the banner.

Please leave feedback!

SaDesigns - As I said, really like your new design. It doesn't have any wow factor, but it's simple and it's good for adding a lot of content. Much better then your first one though! How would coding work..free? If not how much?

Epic- Way to simple man, just looks like a default blog template.

JanineXD- Thanks for the effort. It's way to image based though, and that's what i'm trying to get away from.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=315653

jg2000- Also a bit to imaged based, however it's better then the other one. I just like 2 or 3 of the other ones better.

thesilverblade - awesome. Similar to SAdesigns, great for content. very nice and clean layout! Seems like it's be easy to plugin different colors as well for the other sites!

Good job guys! Anybody else gonna give this a go?

Thanks for the feedback. It's difficult to make anything too complex when you don't want many images at all and want lots of room for content.

You seem to be preferring a standard width, PHP-nuke-looking 3 column design. Would you like me to try again with something like that?

thanks for the feedback although I don't see how my submission is any more image based than the ones you like. If anything it's less, it uses the same images everyones else uses and if I took the header image out it should be exactly what you're looking for. It's all subjective.
