Type of Contest : Template Design

Prize : $100 (Paypal)

Contest End Date & Time : Sunday, November 26th; 6 PM GMT
Prolonged - New end Date : Tuesday, November 28th; 6 PM GMT

Size Requirements : To fit in 1024 Pixel width
Based on the newest Statistics throughout all my Websites and projects, the ammount of people using displays with less than 1024 x 768 pixel has gone down to less than two percent. Designs that consider the users of 800 Pixel width displays are also highly welcome.

Color Requirements : No special requirement
The color pattern should be compatible to the Logo.

General Requirements :

Logo
You will find the logo at:
http://www.villadominio.com/villadominio_logo.png
Should you need any different file type or size, just let me know.

Purpose:
This is to be the landingpage for a complete domain market.
There will be a lot of aditional information on all kinds of internal and external links. Many of the external links will be stand alone projects belonging to Villadominio and will basicaly be using the same template, although there may be certain changes for each project.

Advertisement
Advertisement in form of banners should be taken into consideration.
Side banners will be 125 x 60 pixel. A main banner 468 x 60 should find a position in the head of the site.
Include your sugestions of sample banners for VillaDominio as placeholders for other banners.

Menu
The main menu will consist of about 5 or 6 main points and some of these will also have a submenu (2nd level). There is no plan for a third menu level, since we want the navigation to be very simple and straightforward.

An additional one level menu should be included for links to such things as contactform, about us, terms of use, newsletter and similar.

Login
The template should have a login field.

Preferences
We like clear straightforward designs.
Do not overload with graphic elements.

Technical
I will need the original PSD File(s).
Vector files should be included Where applicable.
If graphical menues are used, please include the hover and active versions.

The text "domain vilage" in the logo, is where the changing name for the standalone projects will be entered. You might want to keep this into consideration while designing the menu. I still need to decide, what text will appear replacing "domain village" on the main landing sight.

Sorry, but it's not the kind of design we are looking for.
It looks to "standard"
It's to overloaded.
It would look quite good for a "normal" webhosting company.

As said above:
We like clear, straightforward designs.

Feel free to change colors, contrasts or outlines and remove elements, or try again.

Your design has potential. Very good try.

A few changes:

Put the large banner inside the header. Use a sample banner instead of a blank.
Login section is to large.
I think the design should not be centered. Try it left.
Put the smaller banners on the right outside of the 800 width. (To suit other contents types, like i.e. the forum)
Use sample banners instead of blanks.

It's looking good.
I would probably take the navigation from the right side and put it on the left.
The login could go underneath.
I think I would also leave about 20 or 30px space on the left, instead of having everithing sticking to the edge.
Take those horrible Google ads away, they spoil the whole thing. Use one of the rotating banners from www.webdesignerforum.eu instead, or chose some other sample.

You are certainly in.
Lets see what else comes.
