Avatar needed for PC101.com - $25

Howdy!

I need a snappy new avatar for PC101.com

I don't have any specific ideas in mind and it doesn't have to have the colors of the site. I'd like something kinda bright and shiny and eye catching.

Please provide the final product in the following sizes... 100 x 100, 80 X 80, and 70 X 70.

They all look cool but here's some feedback...

Gene, it is snappy and I like it.

I like the first one better than the second and I like your choice of colors! But, the horizontal .com though makes me wanna turn my head sideways.

Yeah, I'm weird like that.

So, can we do somethine else with the .com part?

Virgil, I dig the 3D and button look. Neat! I'm not so keen on the lil pc101.com in black... kinda distracts from the coolness of the rest of it. And maybe we can tone down the colors just a bit. I like that it's shiny but it's a lil too bright!

Downloadfreak, I really dig the font at the top and love how you've sorta hiden the whole domain name under the PC. The only thing I'd change about the top is the PC seems to washout in the white.. but I really like how you graduated the colors! I'm not sure what's going on with the bottom half... the 101 part.

It's in a different font and seems a lil disconnected from the top.

These are all very good entries guys! Lemme see more!

Does anyone think I can go without the .com part??? I see a few avatars here that give the name of a site but don't put the .com along with. I guess the first assumption people will make is that's it's a .com so I'd be safe there!

If it were mine, I would definitely include the .com. A graphic of this type often goes unnoticed as a URL unless it's spelled out.

Here's some revisions...
Regarding the .com part... please don't be upset because you should underline that issue on your first post but like you have no ideas...
I know you have been giving feedback... I read that also but I try to design always something unique (origin~all) and and - believe I tried to insert the domain name in several ways... but i didn't came out like I want, so...

And there's another isue, the size of the design... too small to play around, and the result is that everybody (including me - not so origin~all

) is following the scheme pc top 101 down.
Anyways, I made a revision.

guetizo, Fun but a little too playful (?). The font is one that speaks to me of a kids site maybe. I do like the straight forward delivery of the name though! And, the web addy at the bottom in the large sizes is great... but in the smaller size you can hardly see it.

Your second one is even better in the delivery of the .COM in that you have the letters in such a way that I don't have to turn my head sideways. Still, it has the kid font that might not fit the site. I like the colors too!

Sergio, Cute! I like it but I'm wishing the 101 part wasn't tucked under that black line. Maybe we can do away with the line or have the 101 on top of it and the PC on top of the 101?? The tiny bit o' overlap is kewl.

One thing that concerns me is that the domain name at the bottom might not be visible when sized down. Can you show me one of the smaller sizes too? Also, the 101... it seems a tad "skinny" compared to the pc up top. Can we fatten it up a bit??

The one thing I'd like to see is maybe one with just one part flashing. Like... maybe just the frame... or just the pc101.com at the bottom... or maybe just the "Class is now..." And... how is it going to look reduced down to 70 x 70??

Gene, way cute! That was a nice change o' pace and I like how you go down a different road!

The one suggesting I'd make is maybe putting the ".com" on the eraser! Possible? That way we can get rid of the pc101.com below it. I think the chalk board by itself is way kewl!

p.s. And is there some way we can make the text "pop" a lil more... as they on all those design shows?!

At the smaller size it gets a lil fuzzy.

95 designs, very cool!

I like how you've taken the text in computer theme and ran with it! There's a lil bit too much flash for my peepers though.

I'd suggest just having the PC101 change colors and loose the other flashiness.

Also, if we're going to follow that idea (text in computer) then let's make it even more in keeping with the site itself and have a greyish computer (not white).

Again, really awesome additions to the contest!
