I am looking for a 1 page web template for the site 'Hidden Bars of Melbourne'.
The site needs to be in HTML/CSS - no flash/swish etc and I want to be able to get the site up as quickly as possible, so I would prefer it if the entry was not a psd.
The company offers tours of the local bars, so a dark/night theme would suit. There won't be a lot of text.
The main logo should have the words 'Hidden Bars of Melbourne' as text not graphics, for SEO purposes. Though it would be good to have surrounding graphics.
I have included a demo of the layout of the site, but feel free to change it, it is just an idea. There should be space for a menu, for the options 'Home', 'About the Tour', 'Contact/Book'
I have also included a photo I found on a stock-photo site. This is intended just to give you an idea of the sort of suitable graphics. The tour is not a 'Get-drunk' type of thing, so pics of people enjoying cocktails are more appropriate than a girl dancing on the bar with a beer in one hand and her top in the other.
Chili - I know the demo you have shown is a meant to be a generic site, and has to have some work done - but it seems too far removed from the idea of a bar tour at the moment.
vivsin - Definitely more like it, but I really don't want to have a graphic for the heading. Alt text is not comparable to H1 as far as SEO goes. Also, as the competition is for a 1 page design, I would like to see the complete page. Overall, this is heading in the right direction.
Just one more comment on the design by Chili - The age market for the site to appeal to is 25-40, so it needs to look more professional. Maybe that isn't the right word, but it looks a bit like a games site at the moment (too much green?).
Splinter Freelance - On the right track, but the color scheme is a bit dated and it looks like too much clipart.
Nebo - Great Effort. I really like this one. I would like to see this with the title 'Hidden Bars of Melbourne' and perhaps a graphic to emphasise the bar/drinking theme. It also needs a little more polish, and it looks a bit unfinshed at the moment. I would like to see this design pursued.
Empty Promi3s - Very professional, but a little uninviting at the moment. Also, it is unclear what the graphic is. I would prefer something a little more obvious (ice cubes, blended into the black background, perhaps). Bit too much text, but I can imagine what it would look like without it, so no problem there. I am also keen to see this layout developed.

This one is as simple as a little black dress. All text/css, with the exception of the 2 pics in the top. Links are css/mouseover (see smaller pic). Very easy to edit/add text and links. WC3 validated to show in any browser.
