I was under the impression that the phrase 'Open Source' originated from Eric Raymond who co-founded the OSI. Any links as to the true origin would be appreciated Free Software, on the other hand...

Either way, I think you'll find that you are in the minority when claiming that 'Open Source' refers to the readability of code, and I'm sure that VBulletin specifically would disagree with you.
