Cool .us domains are they worth it?

Are the .us domains worth registering? Where do they stand to the .coms?

.com is the top of the line
.net is the second to .com
.org is third to .com

.us, .biz, .co.uk are fourth to .com

Go to afternic.com -- .us is selling pretty well.

I agree with WebHold's list.

I had a few good sales in the .us namespace (mother.us, father.us, webmaster.us), but .com is king...make no mistake about that.

Kind of off topic, but regarding .us domains, I just received an email from godaddy because I am an existing customer and they are offering $5/year registration for .us extensions until March 31. But when I went to the homepage they are listed as $6.95. Wonder if it's just available to existing customers. But thought I would mention it.

I think .biz has overtaken .org.

No one wants to buy bailbonds.org from me for $100
But what about bailbonds.biz?

That's what I meant by "where does .us stand?" I know what it means but I wanted to know if it's ahead of .org and/or.net? I have a list of great .us but not sure if I should register them LOL.

Keep in mind that .org is normally for a not for profit business. If you can remember that as a basic guideline, I believe your return on .org regs / names will be more profitable.

So if given the choice to register a domain with a ".org" or a ".us", which would you go with, assuming that you think the buyer is in a for-profit venture?

This is purely opinion because I am a reseller. If it was a for profit venture that I owned, and I had a choice between only a .org or .us, I would go for the .us because of upside value over time and a for profit extension.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=72

As a reseller, the bottom line is the same names for a .org and a .us would command more cash (value) for the .org at this point in time. That is just the way the market is at this time and i would steer my customer to the .org.

The limited range of .org ---profitable for only domains that make sense with the extension such as poetrycontest.org (pm me if you want it) Would you think that limitation alone makes it unworthy to place it number 3?

The main reason I asked this is because if you go to namebargain.com and look for a word (see), the order is:
see.com
see.net
see.us
see.org
see.biz
see.info
It made me believe that was the order of the worth or value. If it is then .us is above .org?

.org stands on it's own. It's hard to compare it to other extensions right out, or place it in a list like this because it works better that other situations more so than others.

In general, quality .ORG's are worth more, and sell for more than .US or .BIZ domains.

It's not an extension exclusive to non-profit groups! Contrary to popular belief, there are organizations and groups that do make money. Take almost any industry and you will find the top sites in that genre populated with websites using dot org.

So basically the order is the same and namebargain.com just listed it that way. Thanks so much for the info.

the org domain is intended to non profit organizations.... unfortanly that isn't being done...

.com is the king, but is very "overcrowded"

have you ever heard the tk domain? it's free and no ads.

The .com is and will always be the king. But watch out for .us! I think it will take the second spot after the .com here in the US in a near future.
