The idea is the .com will rank globally, .ca will rank higher in google.ca So unless you're only looking for local traffic (dentist in vancouver) v/s global traffic (dentists everywhere) then developing the .com makes more sense.

![]() | .ca domains do indeed rank higher for localized search results. So if you're target audience is mainly canadians, it might be a better idea to register a ca domain for your primary domain.
