.MX Discussion and Showcase

Wow, great news about the re release of .mx domains. I think this has huge potential considering the population in mexico is 100 mil. Those who already have a .com.mx or .org.mx domain can pre register teh same domain in .mx extension. Luckily I registered a few months back these domains, please tell me the best in order please:
gun.com.mx
see.com.mx
ear.com.mx
war.com.mx
won.com.mx
cuentas.com.mx (accounts in spanish)
cesta.com.mx (basket in spanish)
cestas.com.mx (baskets)

Hey thanks for your opinion...out of interest, any reason to choose ear instead of war? I would have thought war would be more valuable- no? Also, any value in cesta at all you think?

I've ranked them in order of commercial development value.

War is everywhere but I dont see how you can make money from it.

Cheers!

Awesome, thanks for your advice. if anyone knows the cheapest place to pre order .mx names (on an english site) please let me know. Marcaria is offering at $55 p/y but this seems a little steep to me.

They receive priority to register their subsequent domains in the .mx extension

It sure is. Am I right in thinking there are just 300,000 com.mx registered? Does this mean com.mx will become redundant as .mx will just take over?

After 20 years, Mexico’s .mx ccTLD is now on public launch.

Landrush registration for .MX is now open on a "first come, first served" basis at a variety of registrars with an opening price of $1000 on the very first day (Sep 1st). Most of the registrars are now charging $500 - $700 per name.

This price will gradually decrease (like a Dutch auction) from September 1 to October 31 and it will reach $35 per domain on Oct 31st.

From November 1 onwards, the registration fee will be $50.00 for a single .MX registration.

Please showcase your .MX landrush registrations here.

To me, your post sounds like an advertisement for .mx

$500-700/year for a domain name of an unproven country code and a country (Mexico) in economic and social distress is just completely insane

Lol, the pricing is NOT a regular one. It is for the landrush. Regular pricing will be around $50/Yr.

.mx domains

I need help please ! I have a good com.mx domain, I was wandering if buying domains with countries extensions is a good business ? com.mx is for mexico, so if I have one domain like casinos.com.mx should I buy it ? also which domains are better the ones with a plural word or singular ? if you have the option to choose beteen casinos or casino which one would you choose ?
and sorry if this is a stupid question but if you have for example cars.com.mx and you search in google cars, that would be the first website to show up ?
thanks

I'd choose casino, since casinos would look like you will offer a list of casinos, and casino will seem like you have a casino in your web.

if there are only 300k .com.mx, i am thinking that .mx will surpass that easily by the time the smoke clears from this current landrush.

I think the price point has finally hit that sweet spot at $64.99 where we're going to see domainers regging en masse
