Official .VC Showcase & Discussion

One of the interesting ccTLD's is .VC
Originally intended for St.Vincent, I've heard recoinings along the lines of
"Venture Capital".

Anyone have any .VC domains? Any notable sales?

I own GPS.vc, not sure what to do with it at this point.

I own http://dn.vc/, 'DN' for "Domain Names", and I've just started a free domaining news aggregator site, like Domaining.com. It pulls snippets of new posts from dozens of industry blogs which the owners have kindly allowed me to syndicate on the site.

.VC is one of the few TLDs (that doesn't have an impossibly expensive reg fee) where you can still reg two character domains and that's what drew my interest to it. In fact, there are still some LL.vc combos available.

GPS.vc is one of the better LLL combos in any extension. You could try setting up a site with some info about GPS products and an e-store selling GPS units as an affiliate.

The cheapest registrar i've found so far is idotz.net. The others are either more expensive or won't accept .vc domains.

I sold proxy.vc on namepros live auction for around $105 if my memory is correct. There are some great .vc names out there still! Mike your GPS.vc is nice, I have GPS.sc maybe we can make partner sites!

I have a couple more .vc names but my computer is being too slow for me to find out what they are. I don't mind random extensions like .vc because I try to develop mostly.

Some other things vc could mean besides venture capital:
Video Chat
Virtual Chat
Very Cool
Vacation Center
Voltage Circuit

The possibilities are endless!!

Also thinking along the 'venture capital' lines, I have credit.vc (can't remember if I bought it or reg'd it now as I've had it for about 2 years).
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=538195
No real idea what it's worth as the .vc market is very small (although if anyone asks I always say $xxxx!); but based on Mike's data in the first post, I'd say a realistic value would be $200-$500.

NN or LL with repeating characters would be nice (or nice LL combos). Personally, I wouldn't waste time/money on something like zj.vc or 06.vc

Oh, and there is a thread a bit lower down where others are showing off their .vc domains: http://www.namepros.com/cctld-discussion/520089-vc.html

Sorry if this sounds harsh but IMO this extention is totally worthless unless a site is directed towards the internet users of St Vincent. Using a ccTLD for an abbreviation is only working if people know that abbreviation spontaneously from daily usage. "CD", "TV", "CV", ... those make sense. To brand VC as Venture Capital is not going to work because people are not used to commonly seeing this abbreviation. If WS for WebSite or ST for Street hardly made much impact, how will you try to sell an even less common abbreviation?
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=538195

Also, look at the prices... In most extentions, keywords such as "poker" or "mail" would sell for a multitude of the prices they sold for with .VC combination. I fear this extention has no future in being used as an globalised domain, it probably has use if your site targets St Vincent but outside of that country?? I'm very sceptic about that.
