I've had a check through previous threads and it appears that (a) the country does not have internet so far as yet and (b) there is not a chance of getting this tld out if you are not a resident or a buisiness owner within this country.
Has anyone come across a way to obtain a .er domain?
I am looking for this purely for personal reasons as such if I could get hold of the domain I want it would not be for resale.
Although appreciate that there could be quite a few nice hacks out of it.
AFAIK .er domains are usually third level domains, there are just a few active websites under .com.er.
Why not contact the registry: http://www.tse.com.er/aboutus.htm

Cheers Kath,
Tryed them before making my post my email just got bounced back.... Must look into it more. Arnie I thought it before I made the post a classic for any collection.
The problem with er for hack potential is IMHO is that most of of the strongest words that could be hacked with this would be weakend if it was to be taken as hack. although the strongest ones seem to go well with .ed a tld I'd like to see come out.

Although it looks like second-level registrations have been closed since 2004, somebody got rochest.er (source: http://www.robert.net/ccTLD/ER/) although I guess it is the NIC as the nameservers are the same...
