I know
Yeah, I know but I can't think of anything worthwhile in Morrocco.
At least the .ma could supply some identity for a Massachusetts domain.

For examples look for any California city in the .ca Canada extension, they are all taken eg. losangeles.ca
They are even marketing .la (laos) as Los Angeles, Louisiana and Latin America.

Doesn't it cost something like $85 a year to register a .MA. That's too much in my opinion for a non .com.

Timewarp
Never even thought of Louisiana or Latin America.
Fees may be high but with the right name, it could be flipped to an end user.

I have 'PresidentOba.ma' and 'BarackOba.ma'.
At the moment DotMaroc are trying to get the whole system fully automated, if and when that happens it will be a great little boost.

there are no restrictions as far as I know.
I know that some Hungarian websites exist with this tld, as Hungary is called Magyarorszag in its own language, and Magyarorszag.ma is an active site.
From the FAQ page of domain.ma:
http://domain.ma/faq.php
Who can register a .ma domain name?
Moroccan country code domain can be registered by every one on a first come, first served basis. New naming rules are on discussion by the Telecom Regulator and will be published here if there is any change.

Rules have changed last year. You now need a local admin-c contact but the registrar will usually provide one if needed.
Similar requirements are in place for .de etc.

I do like the looks of these ccTLD domain hacks but has anyone tried promoting a site using one?
With the increase in GEO targeted search it could be a huge disadvantage. My own experience with .ca sites is that they come up much more often in google.ca searches and less in general google.com searches.
