E-Commerce Newbie - Advice please

Hi

I've got a jewellery related domain name (bling) that i'd like to develop to sell jewellery online. I've heard that you can use a third party to supply and post the goods you sell via the site and therefore I would not have to carry the stock but rather pay them for the goods plus a cut of the profit - is this correct? I guess this would make me a reseller? Can anyone advise me on how I could find the suppliers of such services and is this a recommended way of doing business on the internet?

Any advice about starting a low risk business online without having a lot of funds would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

It seems like an affiliate program with a product datafeed that you could use on your site would be just the ticket.

Check out a couple of vendors that offer this type of setup:

Mondera.com has a very very professional site, and their product range seems to fit well with your business idea.

There's also JeGem but maybe not as high end as Mondera (as far as jewels go)...

Good luck,

Rob

It's called drop-shipping. You pay somebody, they ship an item in your name. However, it's hard to find REAL drop-shippers. By real, I mean ones that don't go thorogh other dropshippers.
http://www.gegy.com/ is the only one I know of.

We have an online jewelry store... but we use it more as a Catlog site than e-commerce to draw the customers into retail locations or to call onthe phone
