Canadian Only Site?

Hello everyone,

I'm thinking about creating a site/forum regarding a specific sport (tennis) for canadians (.ca domain). Would this be too risky in terms of gaining a lot of unique visits/revenue? A .US is a different story considering most websites get most of there revenue from the U.S. Also the .com, .net and .org of the domain I want is taken (all parked though)...will a lot of ppl confuse the url with a .com?

What do you all think?

Thanks

IF you are making a site for Canadians use a .ca. No they won't confuse it - especially if they start seeing parked pages. The search engines will give you boost because yours has real content and the other don't. And when people select "pages from Canada" in google for example your dot ca will get a tremendous boost in the results.

Canadians know and trust a .ca and most with .ca websites will tell you the same thing - you will see 20-60% of your traffic from the US when using a .ca anyways.
