|  Ideas for website that attracts traffic
I would like to pose this question to all NP'ers.
What websites attract a good amount of traffic? I know game arcades and some other websites attract a decent amount of traffic. But, I would like to get some ideas from all of you. Are sites offering wallpapers and screensavers doing as good as game arcade sites?
Feel free to throw as many ideas as you have in this thread.

The internet is flooded with wallpaper/arcade websites so you will have to implement some marketing techniques in order to promote your website, though they do attract traffic. Another way is offering something to the user that is unique and sought after, creating your own niche in the market, if its something that people genuinely want or if its something that will benefit many people then it will be easier getting it out there in the market. | |

| Take a look at: Alexa's Global 500 list @ http://www.alexa.com/site/ds/top_si...lobal&lang=none to see whats most popular. It features a lot of search engines but others do include:
- YouTube (video/social)
- Myspace (social networking)
- Facebook (social networking)
- Orkut (social networking)
- Wikipedia (online encyclopedia)
- Blogger (blogging)
- RapidShare (file sharing)

Put out good content and the traffic will come. I use think this was a joke but I put it to the test. Here is what I did and you should do it to.
Register a domain
Put a wordpress blog
Blog once a day for 30 days
Put out good content
Nothing for sale, just pure content
Check your stats after 30 days ------- TRAFFIC! | |

· #5 | | NamePros Member | Find a niche market, if something is super popular no doubt there is plenty of people targetting it already, you need to find a niche that no one is targetting. Though traffic is important, if you want to make money it comes down to conversions, what percentage of the people who visit your site generate income for you and how much this income is. I know sites with minimual visits which do really well, as they convert alot of visitors and the revenue for each conversion is high. | |

| web proxies does attract traffic, a regularly updated blog because of it's .xml feed.
wallpapers and screensavers if there are various and huge database of it, promoted via .xml feed will also attract traffic. | |
