· #1 | | New Member | Partners / Investors in an online radio station Hi all,
A couple of years ago a friend of mine started a really amateuristic online radio station. Jost one mic, in his bedroom, broadcasting whenever he had time. Trough the years I got involved and made it clear to him that he shoud do someting with it. Make it grow a bit. So we worked together and managed to get some space in a garage witch we transformed into a studio. It still stays amateuristic but we're more professional than most other radio stations. We broadcast 24/7 and it sounds... okay (192 kb/s) so we are pritty proud of it. But the only problem is... every potential sponsor we've met says yeas really great BUT... not enough listeners... There are thousands of others like you.... that kind of stuff...
So we're getting almost desperate. Is there anyone who has some advice of some kind or maybe nows some way to get off the ground?
Thanx in advance,
Grtz, |

| I think you've already been given the advice you need... find more listeners. Promote your station as much as you can (both online and offline). Have bands perform live in studio, make stickers or flyers, etc. Pretty much anything goes, as long as it works. What you're selling to sponsors is an audience, and if you don't have the audience they're looking for then they have no reason to sponsor you. Also, the more detailed the information you can get about your audience, the better. The right demographics can be like gold to advertisers. |

· #3 | | NamePros Member | Well I have a website which I am going to be running for quite a few years. I am building on it every day and yes it is hard work. A great idea is to share links, if you would like I will do this, actually I would like to listen to your site do you have a URL?
