I want to start a webhosting business. Does anyone know of a GOOD reseller? I'm thinking about hostgator.
What would separate mine from the rest? I will listen to advice of others, and I will apply the advice from experts (and customers) to the business. That will make me different. If people start saying, you know, "maybe you should offer this..." "or do that." I will take all suggestions into consideration.
I will also make packages very affordable! Yeah, I think yeah, the industry might be saturated, but I think it's because it's a big industry that will never stop growing. Most webhosts fail, that's why it seems to be saturated. I will enjoy this business, so it doesn't matter to me if I don't get customers flocking to me on DAY 1 , that's ok. The overhead is very low, so I can afford to keep it going.
btw I think it's so saturated because the government doesn't impose any regulations on it, so it's a very good industry to get into. The government has ruined most offline industries imo. Saturation = choices. So that's good. You never want webhosting to be controlled by a handful of corporate conglomerates.
The owner is a personal friend who is always willing to help and has some fantastic rates. Been using him for a year and a half now, since he started, and never had a single problem!!
He will always help with any problems and wont just leave it to his systems or support collegues!
His msn is support@geekrack.net if you wish to talk to him, and if you say Ashley referred you, he might just give you some extra help and support No this isnt a cheesy referral deal, he's a good mate, with a great service!!
Before you do anything, its best to do a business plan so you think through everything. Most webhosts fail because they don't have a solid business plan.
The owner is a girl? I assume your talking about Stephen?
Anyways I suggest http://www.resellerzoom.com esspecialy if this is a hobby for you. They are more expensive but there advance resellers come with annymous end user support so you can keep in contact. There support is friendly and arround the clock. I've never had a problem with them.
Westnic have an offer 1c first 30 days offer they are brillant.
Super fast and customer service. I have been with many over the years. But they are very careful who they accept ring you before they accept your business.
hey there eharvester, if your looking to start a hosting company i suggest you look for a reliable host with good uptime rather than a cheap one with high diskpace/bandwidth. Go over to http://www.webhostingstuff.com click on the reseller link and compare the hosts and feedback.
Your main priority is to look for companies with 99.99% uptime with reasonable diskspace/bandwidth and good support, dont fall for other people's recommendations and choose a host that suits your needs and requirements.
Good luck with finding your host...

To be honest I looked at hostgator and the funny thing is, their reseller plans offer less than a personal plan would to a new customer. My opinion- Take their best package and install C Panel on your domain and host it.

Quite some clusters of Hostgator is from ThePlanet datacenters.
I'm a bit more techie so if I were you I'd buy a few ThePlanet servers and set up everything on my own.

There are many good hosting resellers out there - what sort of budget do you have? Are there any specific features that you'd like your package to have?
