They say you have to spend money to make money, but when you start a new business it can be tough to shell out cash for anything that isn't absolutely necessary.
On the other hand, I've recently been looking at some of the mundane things I do in a day including interview transcriptions and quick news posts (I write a TV blog) and I'm thinking it's worth paying someone to do these things for me. The blog itself isn't bringing in enough money to pay for these services, but in theory freeing up my time to do other things could be worth it in the end.
First of all I would say this is absolutely wrong.
Now for the blog stuff. If you think there is a good replacement who can do the same quality and quantity of work that you do and with less amount then yes it is worth it. But only if you are going to spend your free time in earning that money back. Otherwise it is not worth it and you will just spend your time for nothing and you will pay that another guy some money from your blog and take some out of it. Ending result = You got less money this time.
If you know what you're doing and at good at it, I say diy if not paying someone to do it for you as more faster than you can do it will free you up to do more for yourself.
there's also other factors like time which I noticed are luxury to most, since I stay online for 10 to 12 hours my own time I bill someone here from time to time to free them up and I do it for them.
I would say this is wrong. to even get online, you have to spend money. Whether it is access to the computer, the internet, or electricity that is being used, you have overhead that needs to be accounted for.
Although it might be a little bit in comparison to what is being sold for, it is still a cost.
This doesn't make sense to me at all. Why would you hire someone to take over a part of your business that doesn't make money? Forget about hiring someone, you need to either make the blog posting profitable, can it, or sell it off to someone to run as a hobby. If you the owner can't make it profitable, a paid worker is going to drive it into the ground.
Move onto something that makes money, and then hire someone to do that while you find something else that makes money.
The problem is "TV Blog"... if you think about it for a second...it can be profitable. Just you need to make it unique and stand out from the other blogs and websites out there. That is possible the best advice I can give.

I do believe yo have to spend some money to make money - but how and where you spend that money will result in differing result - some ways more cost effective and some yeilding more revenue.
I would say; if you are going to pay someone $10hr to upkeep your site, and you know you can make $15hr doing your own job or something else - then yes.
Also when a biz gets to a point where help will bring in more revenue such as added sales persons - then yes, hire.
As long as your hired help has something to do, that you cant do or costs you more time or money to do, or that would be ineffective use of your time - then hire!
