I'm just trying to get some tips on how I should form an LLC. I've seen some various sites on the net that look like they take care of the work for a price, but I'm wondering if there are just some forms that can be filled out to take care of it.
It's really not too hard to form an LLC. If you read the instructions well, you can do it yourself by filling out the proper forms and sending it in with payment.
I've done it in both Nevada and California. What state are you forming your LLC in?

It does vary from place to place - particularly with taxes. Take a look at your home state's LLC and perhaps research on the internet. In my case, I just stuck with my home state. All I had to do was download a form, fill it out, and send it in. Some states do this all online probably. I'd recommend not paying the outrageous fees that these companies charge to do what you can do yourself.
Remember to check up on local licenses as well.

I've never done this - but may be soon - however I've heard some good things about registering in Delaware (but don't quote me on this - I may be wrong!) ... apparently Google is incorporated in Delaware, and 60% of Fortune-500 companies are as well. 'Course, I don't know if that's the same thing as forming an LLC in Delaware, either....
I spoke with my accountant about the Delaware registration of an LLC.
He says you will have to pay taxes in your home state and in the state you file your LLC in.
I'll know more in a few weeks.

It's looking like I need to talk to an accountant as it'll likely have the best information for me (I didn't know that the laws varied from state to state). Thanks for the tips. I'll let you know how it goes for Washington.
Fill out the forms - send in with payment and wait about 2-3 weeks and you will receive a letter confirming your LLC.
You could actually go to the department and file in person. This is what i did Pretty much you are dropping of the paper work - since my department was close it was easier.
Once again if you don't know what your doing and don't want to pay an accountant.. go to the Secretary of State's web site and you will find all the information you need!
Remember not only do you pay for this fee upfront but you do pay a yearly tax(fee).
Good luck and if you have questions please don't hesitate to ask!
