· #1 | | New Member | would you work/ sell your site in exchange for stock in a company? would you work/ sell your site in exchange for stock in a company?
a company that is going public offers you shares of the company in exchange for work. have any of you ever had that happen? or would you bite?
Like you have a message board about marketing, or agreat domain name. an advertising company offers you more then your asking price, but will give you stock in the company instead of cash.
do you understand what I am asking, and how would you respond?
(like the ocmpany would sign a promissory note for the amount you agree on, say 5,000. the not would be convertable to stock when it goes public, provided it goes public within say one year...)
This may be too "heavy" to describe. i want to know if anyone here has ever had anything to do with such an offer, from any side of the table.
Thanks! |

| I have heard of it happening, particularly with some big domain sales. I would consider, depending on the track record of the company, and those running it.

We were offered shares in the company paid by a reduction in wages. The wage reduction was supposed to be allocated into shares upon floatation. In this occasion no flotation ahppened but a redundancy did. I wouldnt touch the scenario again with a barge pole IMHO. |
