I have a reg'd domain ready for a website (needs to be built) that will put all others to shame in the advertising business. Where to go with my idea? Can I trademark my idea? Need a lawyer, very talented web designer, sponser's, business partner's etc.
Not sure about quotes like that and your constant use of EXCLAMATION MARKS!!!!! in your subject headers is generally considered a naff idea.
I'd be very suprised if your idea was quite as good as you seem to imagine but the only piece of advise I will give you on the subject is don't go on a public forum and talk about it.
Thats just the thing, I'm afraid to give this "idea" out to anyone. This is imh to god truth, is the best idea for an advertising website ever. I've checked the web for the past 3 months and I've seen nothing at all that even comes close. Even thought about calling google but figured they probably have better things to do then listen to some nobodys idea.
As for Tm'n my idea, I'm even afraid to mention it to them. It really is that good.
That said, it'll probably linger and die in my mind sad to say.
Well since you are so afraid to give this "idea" out to anyone, there's no point in looking for opinions on TMs, lawyers, talented designers, business partners as you'll need to explain the concept to those people for them to work.
What I would need is a serious contact at either yahoo, google. Someone I could trust to not rip off my idea. I cant even trust myself at times so this is a toughy.
I can assure you it hasnt. A very complicated website to build. Havent seen anything that comes close. Ive spoken to my web designer about the idea and she said its probably worth billions and shes seen no such design herself in the business for years. Too complicated for her though.
I dont doubt your talent createmx, but this must be kept under my hat for the time being. I am up for a personal meeting with any interested designers, lawyers, patent attorneys etc.
Reason I am so confident in this "idea", is because if it were done already, the internet world couldnt avoid it if they tried. Everyone online would know about it.
is it selling X amount of pixel space on a website and creating a collage of all the pixel space sold? Then you proceed to call it the BILLION dollar webpage?
I do have a question, who really runs and tracks the internet and its traffic? Google? In another words, who is the big eye in the sky? Who see's it all really? Is it possible 10 million people plus could be on one individual website?
Is your idea that people sign up an account and it attaches a cookie or something to their browser. Then when they are online visiting the site it activates their logo and it appears on the site for everyone else to see.
This means that people have to visit the site for their advertising to appear and because they are online they will see everyone elses logo.
Guy it's really cool that you found the next big thing.
It might be better to actually brag, & tell the world after you can accomplish making it. it can't be next if you aren't even in the developing stage.
As a person in business with connections to various companies I personally wouldn't dare giving out personal contacts from hearing a person found the next big thing on the internet.
In the development field there's plenty of people I ran across who had wonderful multi million dollars ideas who never lifted a hand or wanted to spend a red dime of their own money to develop it.
Personally I thought the next big thing was IDN domains last year. I didn't talk about it I developed the current top forum for IDN Domains. Since then the IDN Domain market has expanded faster than we could all expect. I've invested in my personal portfolio & also in the site. The chance was there I grabbed it & now I've already made back my software expenses, my hosting expenses, my advertising expenses, & the cost of registering my entire portfolio of IDN Domains (about 280 in jp, com, & net) & I've sold less than 10 of my domains, & not even the very best.
My point is if you believe you have gold don't sit on it. No one can give you advice for an invisible idea. I hope you take this as inspiration & not any disrespect to you.

If your idea is as good as you believe, you'll need to protect it before you start telling the world about it. See a lawyer. Any lawyer. He/She will be able to give you general advice on nondisclosure agreements for prospective partners and point you at the right type of law firm to handle your IP.
Olney, thanks for the post and congrats on your success.
I understand how the world works. If I had a million dollars it would have been started already. Theres an old saying that goes something like this, "It's not what ya know, but who ya know". Or is that the other way around (;
Sadly for me, the second portion of that quote will be the truth that keeps me just above the poverty level for now. Dont let the name fool you
