Well, this may be in the wrong forum, is so, can anyone suggestion a better location to this thread?

I have thought about opening a vBulletin forum, perhaps grow it for half a year, and then, sell it. At that selling point in time, I would probably like to keep my vBulletin registration/license, so how would I give them the forums? Would I have to give them my license?

I never done this, but I almost bought a forum. What I was told was the script wasn't legally allowed to be on the domain if the license was moved to a different forum. Therefore, all I would get is the database with members' info and posts. When I get my own license, I would import all that stuff into the database and it would be like nothing every happened....someone outbidded me and I didn't get the forum, so that's all I know.
