· #1 | | New Member | Spreading Financial Wings Finding More Work - Making More Money
I know this is probably the quest of most people, but what makes me different is that I am not a beginner. First of all, if this is not the right Board, please move it to the correct Board. Second, I have posted this because I have certain limitations and a standing position with a perspective that may not allow me to see the 'light' most of you wiser professionals can see, therefore I am basically asking for insight, enlightenment and for lack of a better word... 'help'.
Now, here is my concern... I am a Pro Web Designer and have been doing this for many years. I have designed sites for people all over the world and locally in the Caribbean, where I am from. Most of my work comes through referral or simply people contacting us through our web sites. My income is generated from site design, adsense, donations, banner / text ads on our sites and lastly on site computer repairs. However, recently I have become house bound and am now only able to use my computer to make all my income from home.
So, what do I want? I want a way to make either a greater amount of money than I am currently getting or at least a more stable income, something that will enable me to accomplish more of the things I need to do without having to make it a battle. What can I do that I am not doing, keeping in mind that I am house bound? All insight welcomed. Thanks. |

| what you need to do is start aggressively marketing your service. There is infousa.com which can give you a list of all new businesses, which probably eventually want to put up a website. There is also online marketing that will help you. Start an aggressive link exchange campaign and trade links with 100’s of related websites. Read some SEO articles and optimize your site. Hire a professional sales writer to rewrite the content on your website to sell more efficient and get more conversions. Check out Google adwords and overture ppc advertising. This is often a cheap way of getting new customers.
Hope that helps,
-Ryan |

· #4 | | NamePros Regular | Team up with other webdesigners. Go on work holidays and rent your house out.
Search for your market. Maybe London. |

I wish I had my own house to rent out! |

· #6 | | NamePros Regular | There is only so much one person can do to build up a business. The more people that are part of your business the more contacts you have and the more work you can take in at one time. |

| Why not put a link to your design site in your NP sig? If you have a repeat clientele, raise your prices a bit. |

| Develop a few affiliate marketing sites. When you become proficient enough with affiliate marketing, sell your skills to other local companies as an affiliate program manager. Easier typed than done, but there are a lot of small companies out there that want to sell online but don't even know what affiliate marketing is, let alone how to manage and grow an affiliate program.
