associate-O-matic

I wondering if anyone here has a store with them selling amazon products ?

Has it worked for you ?

Do i need another amazon account as well as my associate-o-matic account ?

Is there a minimum payout ? via amazon ?

any and all opinions are appreciated !

I don't use it, but yes, you need an Amazon affiliate account. You're being paid by Amazon, not associate-o-matic. If you use the "light" version, they swap out your aff ID for their own once in every certain number of times (4? 10? Should be on their site).

Minimum payout at Amazon depends on the distribution method you choose. The lowest is $10 - that's for Amazon Gift Certificate or direct deposit.

I use it on a number of my domains (currently 7-10???).

I started using AOM just as Amazon dropped its starting percentage to it's current rates, 4% for US affi's and 6% for UK sites.

Though the Amazon's percentage has dropped quite a bit in the last couple of years, I've covered my upfront costs for the "Pro" version of AOM and expect to continue to cover the yearly "maintenance" fees ($20 USD) plus a few added $$$'s -- but not a lot.

If you have a high dollar product niche, know how to SEO and can spend some time customizing the sites a bit, you should do alright.

Personally, my biggest interest in AOM is the fact that it can help build traffic and a presence in the search engines thus increasing overall value of the domains that the sites are built on.

Be aware that depending on your domain's product niche, sometimes it's a bit tricky getting the settings "just right" when you are building each site. Though I'm no AOM whiz-kid, I've made enough mistakes and have learned a few things so feel free to PM me if you think I might be able to help.

Also, there are a few people over at the AOM forum that REALLY KNOW how to customize their sites. Many of these customized pages/sites hardly even look like they started life as AOM. Speaking of AOM forums, they are very helpful and friendly -- just like here at NP!
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/affiliate-talk/655356-associate-o-matic.html

I think there are some "developers for hire" who use AOM to build "custom sites" for their clients. An example of these types of sites can be found over at Latonas.com where there is an auction going on for "100 developed keyword domains" that all start at $250 min bid. I think all the "product" related domains in that batch are built on AOM.

Good luck!

Astore has limited customization. It also goes into your pages as an iframe so the content isn't indexed as part of your site.

It IS really easy to use, and if you just need a product showcase to support a content site it could work for you.

If you want to promote just a few items, you can also build custom links to any page on Amazon.

i did add an astore to my site , and some slideshows , i did notice that you can write up to 2500 charcters as a intro , does this help my site ??

I may have a go at the inline frame to fit to my page a bit later on , there were two options and the one i tried did not fit but there were instructions that i can try at some stage ....so far so good

thanks !

None of the astore options are search engine friendly.

A link definitely won't be crawled as part of your page, neither will the frameset method, as the frame is displaying content on Amazon. (BTW, framesets are deprecated in XHTML and HTML5.) Content in iframes won't be indexed as part of your page/site either. (One way of HIDING content from search engines is to put it in an iframe.) I'm fairly certain the same holds true for the widgets like the slideshow.

That's a benefit to using assoc-a-matic

Did you mean clixgalore? If so be prepared to wait a LONG time to see anything out of them if ever. Amazon has its drawbacks, but the program is competently run ... an honest. You'll get paid for what you earn.

I like AOM.
Just received my first check this week. Hopefully the first of many.

I think the key is to have an exact product match domain, dot com preferably, although some of my dot nets do okay. I wouldn't even attempt a brandable domain using AOM(just too much work)
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=655356

Exact match domains with a thousand and under exact monthly searches do okay. Some of mine are on the first page of google and have been there for a while. Highly competitive terms don't rank as well.

I was quoted $800 by 2 different developers for customization. A little too pricey for me. I just set up some simple sites and they are doing much better than parked.

If you are looking to make a few dollars while waiting to sell a domain AOM is pretty good.

BTW, I don't use ftp. I just upload through my host
