Commision junction

If I decided to use this service, can I only place ads pertaining to their business?

Do I need to remove adsense etc?

CJ is an advertising broker bringing together publishers and advertisers... as such, each advertiser has their own specific terms & conditions.

That said, there is no outright policy against integrating CJ advertiser ads into pages including other ad systems. Keep in mind that the general Adsense policy requires that you not place similar ad technologies (notably automatic contextual text ads) on the same page.

As a rule, you general manage CJ ads in a manual fashion (selecting one or more creatives individually or as a group to be rotated in a specific slot on your page)... as long as you don't use a "wrapper" to contextually place those CJ ads (based on the content in a page) you should be fine with Adsense.

Finally, on a side note, keep in mind that each advertiser on the CJ network approves publishers individually - it's a good idea to have your site(s) up and running with decent content before applying to publishers.

Hope this helps - cheers!

Also, keep in mind that Adsense doesn't allow you to run other ads on a page which LOOK like Adsense ads, so don't pick any creatives with a similar format. (There aren't many of them that I've ever seen, but thought I should mention it)

BTW, when you apply to various programs, always read that merchant's terms carefully - they will tell you what you are and are not allowed to do. If you don't understand something, email the affiliate manager.

Good points - treat each advertiser (and their ad creatives) on an individual basis. The tip about reading terms is important as well; some will reverse commissions if you do stuff that they specifically prohibit (notably PPC campaigns that involve restricted keywords, email promotion, social media usage like Twitter, etc)...

Working with specific CJ advertisers requires a bit more effort, but it can pay off very nicely (compared to Adsense and other automatic programs) if you take the time to identify and implement advertisers well suited to your site demographics.

in general cj and affiliate ads are not against adsense.

but as others say, you should read terms of each advertiser in cj.

But my only tip for you: if you want success in affiliate marketing, don't put adsense in the same landing page to keep the customer focuses on your target.

regards,
