Domain Registration Affiliates?

Is it worth it to build a domain registration site and use an affiliate program?

Does anyone have any examples?

Who has a good program?

I've only just started flirting with the idea, so any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you looking for an affiliate program or are you building a complete site that sells domains and other related services? If that is the case I would recommend Godaddy reseller account. Godaddy also has an affiliate program that I think is the hightest paid affiliate program in domain registration industry.. I could be wrong but I have had some nice commissions with them..

Also I think the reseller is a better option with them because reseller website will give you residual commissions if people renew their domains years after years. With affiliate program it is one time commission and Godaddy makes the money for rest of the years lol....

Thanks for the reply - does the reseller option allow you to have your own domain search and shopping cart on your site? or is just pushing sales to a godaddy checkout?

CAn you think of any examples of a godaddy (or other registrar) reseller?

and yes, I'd like to develop my own site and brand.

Yes it allows everything. It is just like a godaddy site but with your own brand and interface. I think CheapDomain.com is one of the reseller sites. If you need a link for reseller account you can pm me and I will be happy to provide one for you.

GoDaddy is the most preferred place to register domains so be an affiliate of GoDaddy.

It's better to get reseller account than affiliate account. With reseller you can set your own selling price, try resellerclub.

I'm not entirely sure I agree that being a reseller is better than being an affiliate. If you are a reseller, you need to manage your own frontline support, make sure payment details are up to date, etc.

Idotz.net is very good... there is simple navigation and simple rules all is transparent... not like godaddy... prices are very similar and you can use its affiliate program to make money out of it. They use ShareaSale.

The cheapest godaddy reseller plan is $100 a year. You might want to try signing up for a free affiliate account first just to see how many sales you can refer and from there can make the decision if you should invest $100 in a reseller account.
