Affiiate recommendations for my site IHateTheMedia.com

I started IHateTheMedia.com in January and am up to many thousands of uniques a month and an Alexa Ranking of under 100,000 already. It's a quasi-political site with a rightwing bent. Google Adsense is paying me crap and I am looking for other methods of monetization. I'm doing Amazon, and other than a nice Kindle sale, the results are not inspiring.

Can anyone please look at my site and offer any suggesstions for affiliates (or other methods of monetization)?

First thing that comes to mind is CafePress - you're sure to find plenty of merchandise that expresses the same sentiments as your posts! They're on CJ. Don't use their generic banners, what I would do is put a few hand-picked relevant products in the sidebar (or maybe in the posts themselves). Yes, it's work, but I think it would pay off for you - certainly better than the Amazon books.

Thanks for the idea. I had tried that once on a green site I have and it got around 300 hits a day, and I never sold one thing over months. But, maybe it would work here. I'll check it out.

What I would do to earn some $$ with PR3 is selling sponsored links or reviews

Cheers!

It's always tricky to monetize a site when your traffic isn't coming there specifically to buy something or to solve a problem. In this case, I'm guessing that your visitors are there to read, share opinions, vent ... many of them probably aren't interested in buying or clicking on anything, but if you can find merchandise that expresses the same opinions in a clever way you may be able to sway a few impulse purchasers .

You could also have a section where you feature an "item of the week" (give it a better name than that!) - pick something you think will really resonate with your audience and talk it up a bit..

Also you can use CPM ads with others. It won't give you a lot but if your traffic is mainly from USA you might able to get some money out of it.

There was a site called stupid.com that had an affiliate program. The reason I mention it is that they sold some funny political stuff, like a talking Ann Coulter doll that insulted liberals, a Hillary Clinton nutcracker where her legs are used to crack walnuts, stuff like that. Even if that site does not have those specific items anymore, a search on CJ for those items would probably reveal a couple more stores.
