I havent tried it out yet but it looks like the affiliate program for adsense/adwords allows you to place buttons or image ads on your website. Has anyone ever tried doing this just as links(taking the affiliate link out of the html for the button or the image and just adding that address as a plain text link on your website)? Is this against the rules or anything? If anyones ever tried this or knows Id appreciate the advice. Thanks

I believe you're talking about adsense referrals.

No you may NOT alter their ads in any way, but some of the referral ads are available as text links.

Since you asked that question, I strongly suggest you (re-)read the Adsense program policies! When you sign up for ANY form of monetization program you're entering a legal agreement with the provider and should always read the terms and policies carefully so you know what they do and do not allow. If you're still uncertain, ask their support people.

Forums are full of posts by people who didn't read these things complaining that "company xyz terminated my account and I don't know why".
