| Welcome threads auto close after a week or two. Not sure how many weeks it is, but they auto close so people don't bump the welcome topics from 2003 which has happened a few times before  It's not because it's you so just keep it calm  | |

| Welcome threads are closed by an automatic process after 10 days if there is no recent activity in the thread.
Like Petter said, it is to stop threads there from being bumped after they have reached a certain age.
