This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

Please use the Like and Thank links on a post to indicate that you like it or are thankful for it being shared.

Do not post only, "great sale" or similar as this doesn't contribute to the thread. (Don't reply for the sole purpose of complimenting.)
  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
You're welcome.

The emails/PM's keep coming through. Obvisouly the FREE domain brokerage and FREE domain lists is as welcome amongst the domaining community as I'd thought it would be.

Federer Given your success at selling domains to end users, I believe many forum participants would be willing to pay a reasonable commission to be able to submit perhaps ten of their best domains which obviously meet certain quality threshholds. In either case I look forward to the first mailing.

I think I get the final word here for 2009 :)

Dream / Candles () com - $495 via GoDaddy premium listing (acquired for $9 a few months back)

My own 58th (and probably final) end-user sale for 2009.

I sold 27 domain names to end-users for a combined $10,435 (avg: $368) between Jan. 1st, 2009 and Feb. 3rd, 2009. After Feb. 3rd, I stopped actively pitching domain names but sold an additional 31 names (out of a total 350 in my portfolio) for a combined $22,575 (avg: $728) via inquiries received. The $22.5K was essentially "free money" since I did not need to send any pitches or solicitations to secure those sales.

The $22.5K breaks down as:

* $9145 via GoDaddy Premium Listings (across 11 sales)
* $5660 via Sedo (across 10 sales)
* $5460 via direct inquiry (across 7 sales)
* $1515 via GoDaddy Domain Buy Service (across 2 sales)
* $795 via Domaining.com (across 1 sales)

I purchased the 31 domains sold passively for a combined $1678, hence total passive profit = $20,897 and ROI = 13.45x.

After JoshuaPZ & others had mentioned Godaddy Premium Listings & the reduction in commission to 30% I decided to give it a try a couple of months ago. I received notice last night of the sale of one of my .COM domains for $750 - no traffic, no Google Adwords Keyword Tool search volume, fewer than 40K exact Google search results but a sale because someone wanted it. This is my first Godaddy sale so I'm not sure how long it will take to clear but as JoshuaPZ pointed out - Godaddy does a great deal of advertising and has brand recognition. The name was listed at SEDO for $599 but buyers aren't always aware of other aftermarket options. I can see that the listing has been removed from my Godaddy domains manager so I suppose I can announce it (payment pending).

EZonlineLoans (dot) com $750 (before 30% commission)
