West Virginia? whatever... another good "bad letters" sale

nice sale, but i'm very bullish regarding short domains. i only see them increasing in value in the future. The internet is still so new and so little used yet if we think about it. call me crazy bull

Your success rate will depend 90% on the quality + relevance of the domains you pitch and 10% on which template you use. That's probably why switching up your e-mail template is hardly nudging you in the right direction.

A steel building domain for $600, Escrow check arrived today (cannot say what it is per NDA)
Cued for deletion in the upcoming renewal cycle. I need to start hitting end-users harder and stop letting these drop

This is a perfect example of how end-user domain liquidity depends more on the underlying industry's market cap than on raw search volume (only 390/month for "Student Lockers"). It's likely because of this low search volume that you were able to scoop this one up for merely $24 as too many domainers depend solely on Estibot's numbers to select their catches. An excellent generic product/service domain and fantastic ROI. Way to go buddy.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, in particular with the dot org extension. Do you feel dot org is in particular a harder sale though because of how it has been branded in the past, as a not for profit type of extension? Although you are seeing more and more for profit businesses using the extension.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=83628

"CheapPlaneTickets" are great keywords no matter what extension you have, but I wonder if you could sell a more average term as easily in a dot org extension as you could in let's say a dot net?

I'm just looking for some opinions. Thanks.

The extension needs to fit the keywords, and keywords like "Cheap" and "Free" click beautifully with .org, for obvious reasons. Combined with the fact "cheap plane tickets" is a heavily searched expression, I'm not at all surprised the domain sold for as much as it did.

Yes, I agree I'm not surprised by the sale either. Do you think for profit businesses differentiate much between dot org and dot net?
