I know it's a bit off topic, but related to a previous conversation in this thread:

Beginning October 20th, SEDO will no longer waive the minimum fees for domain sales unless the domain has a fixed price AND is parked at SEDO. I just thought I'd make a note of that so people wouldn't unexpectedly get hit with higher fees and so that everyone will have time to change their listings. Sorry if I'm off subject.

Best Wishes to all.

Child Abuse
auto//tints (dot) com for $175
It was off Josh's list earlier this year, and one that didn't sell first time around. I send out a second shot of emails for those non-sellers and got 3 nibbles. So far, one sale, one maybe, and one offer of $100 that I will probably reject.

Nice thing is I'd already made my profits from one name off that lot the first time around, so this is just the gravy.

I've sold my first name from Josh's list I won a few weeks ago.
Pleasure<>Boat<dot> com $500
Got an offer at Sedo for $200 countered with $1295, but buyer wasn't willing to pay more than $500, still almost a 900% ROI

Combined Federer's and Josh's methods:

picked up some .net domain at tdnam for $12 some time ago, googled for .com version, sent my offer to few potential buyers from the first five pages, using one of Josh's templates (with no price included). Two days later one of them got back to me and offered $XXX. I countered as large as twice, the final price was in between. Sorry, cannot disclose the exact name and the price.

Will send some NP$ to both when the sale is completed. Thank you guys for your tips! Repped both...

Vintage / Society () com - $495 (GD premium listing)

I acquired this via $8.99 GoDaddy backorder on 11/30/2008, tried to quick-flip it to the obvious set of end-users, couldn't, then listed it with Sedo for $395 and on GD's premium listings for $495 (b/c GD charges 30% commission vs. Sedo's 10% commission). Two days ago I received a "Your premium listing has just sold" e-mail from GoDaddy, this time containing the name of the domain that sold along with the price and commission I listed it for. So GoDaddy now sends these notifications properly and with complete information.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/83628-report-completed-domain-name-sales-here.html

This is my 22nd "passive" end-user sale since 3/20 (out of ~350 avg. domains I owned during that period, which amounts to a 12% annual end-user sell-through rate), with sales volume between those 22 totaling $15,135, or about $28,330 annually and $688/domain. Between 9/1 and 3/20 I sold roughly 200 domains to end-users via "active" e-mail pitching, with sale prices averaging almost exactly half that -- about $343/domain and a total sales volume of $75,800. My average ROI/domain across the board is 24.5x. If anyone needs more specific information about my individual sales to help them price their domains appropriately, you could PM me or visit my website. But my simple point here in displaying these statistics is that, in practice, I found it optimal to price twice as high when passively listing your domain for sale as you do when actively shopping your domain around to end-users. I hope this helps a few of you and also invite other end-user sellers to post their numbers if they have experienced an active-to-passive ratio different from mine.

Zelandia dot com

Picked it up on NameJet for 1xx mid 2008 and earned a bit from parking it. Received my first offer on it for $700 from a for sale/make offer listing on the parking page. I countered with $1,000 and re-countered with $900 when they offered $800. They accepted and promptly paid via Escrow.com.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=83628

I know I might have been able to get a lot more by countering with $7,000 like most people would do, but:

a) I detest when people do that to me when I make a sincere offer (like $700 was for this domain)
and
b) The price was good and I didn't want to risk losing the sale trying to take advantage of the buyer

It was my first ever sale so I'm not sure how I did, comments and criticism would be appreciated.

You started well, and did the right think IMO. 7 times ROI is definitely worth pocketing, I'm sure you will have many more to pocket soon enough!

good luck!

Yeah definitely a great sale, and I think it went down around 14th of this month.. Interesting part is that buyer had money but still went on low balling it with a $100k offer before getting to $675k offer..
