Try moving a domain away from GoDaddy - nightmare. Try finding the transfer domain feature - nightmare. Try talking to a human on the phone - also a nightmare. Looks like Walt Disney threw up all over their page (also nightmare and confusing). I can go on, but you get the jist. Price is the only thing going for them.

Moving a domain from Godaddy is like a song. Unlock, send auth code to your email (you can even get auth coded for all your domains in bulk!). After than you even can speed up transfer progress buy manually accepting transfer-out, and domain may be at your buyer's registrar already on the same day! I don't know any other registrar that gives such feature. I can't imagine what difficulties you could have with moving a domain from GoDaddy.

I do not want all the extra shit! Stop asking!

...

Is what I tell GoDaddy when I "try" to register ONE domain.

I really was not impressed with GoDaddy. I found their site very confusing. I do check in every so often to check the auctions, but if I win one I transfer the domain to another registrar.

Excellent Customer Service

When I call I get a prompt, correct answer. They tell me why or why something can/can't be done. They don't B.S. me. The products that are included with each domain work well for my mission and vision. I'd recommend them to my colleagues.

I Don't Trust TDNAM Auctions ...

Good registrar, I have over 100 names there, so far so good. However, I learned that Adam Dicker, a Godaddy VP/Employee, was bidding against non-insiders like me at TDNAM auction(s). He obtained spyware.us that way, by bidding against Godaddy customers. Adam Dicker owns dnforum.com.

After-the-fact, Godaddy announced it had changed its policy to prevent employees from bidding against customers. Why Godaddy waited until Adam Dicker's shenanigans were outed at domain forums is beyond me. Dicker still has his job at Godaddy, and is still the registrant of spyware.us.

I don't trust Godaddy/TDNAM auctions, nor do I trust Adam Dicker.

GoDaddy will hold your domain hostage!!

I joined this forum just to respond to the reviewer who questioned someone saying that transferring from GoDaddy is a nightmare.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-registrar-reviews/83569-godaddy.html

I CAN VERIFY that GoDaddy will do everything they can to prevent you from transferring your domain! I followed all their instructions, got the transfer code, gave it to the new registrar, but GoDaddy still wouldn't release the domain. Telephone support basically refused to do anything about it. I let the domain expire hoping to re-register it with another provider.....another NIGHTMARE. GoDaddy locked the domain up (supposedly as a "courtesy" in case i wanted to renew with them). I called and asked them to release it - they refused. I kept checking availability 30 days later - NO, 60 days later NO! - 75 days later NOOOO! GoDaddy finally released it after 81 days and I got it elsewhere.

Stay away from the crooks at GoDaddy!

Decent registrar

Quite decent, far from being the best on any criteria, but rather good on some subjects and a decent price (plus lot of coupons and discounts). I've 300+ domain with them, and even though I was tempted to move them a couple times, I finally hold with them.

Good Service but Super Slow Loading

Honestly, all in all I am ok with Godaddy. The site is superb, good price and complete feature. However if I were a registrar grader I would give their site a big F. Its so slow in loading. I am using hi speed connection. I could load Namepros in a flash but even after a minute the main page of Godaddy is still not loaded completely. This is utter nonsense. As one of the biggest registrar, this is a major flaw in their system. I am ok with a simple interface example like name.com. Eventhough its not as attractive compared to Godaddy's design but we, domain users can use the site completely well and fast. I wonder how many hours other users using slow connection need before they can get to their domain interface?

I totally agree with you. Slow Daddy knows of the problem with their slooooooooow loading pages, yet they do nothing about it. All of their money goes to recruiting, Their motto is get new customers, screw the ones we now have. My opinion is that SlowDaddy sucks. I changed my address and now i have to wait 60 days to transfer names, what a joke. In about 2 weeks I will transfer over 260 names from them to a registrar that cares.

Godaddy got it's pros and cons.

Godaddy got cheap prices with proper coupons but their interface is quite slow and you need to clickthrough tons of advertisments on their products that most people doesn't need. Also some of their support employees are awesome but some are very weak and few barely speeks english. Their hosting is quite reliable, but has some glitches sometimes

Good prices, coupon codes and easy to transfer in. I am happy they made it easier to do account to account pushes. Customer service has always been pretty helpful on the phone with my inquiries.

Great Pricing, Annoyingly Constant Sales Pitches

Their interface is heavy on the clicks which makes it annoying. But it it easy to use. The domain manager is highly configurable. The constant attempts to upsell are annoying but the prices are great if you don't mind hunting for coupon codes.
