Most amount of money you have been scammed?

Got the idea from Snake for this thread.

So tell us what the most is you have been scammed by.

I have been 'kind of' scammed by my old webhost www.ukhost4u.com (terrible - beware) and stole my domain and took money for hosting they couldnt provide. Suppose the value of the domain and hosting was well over $100.

Nearly the same situation here only it was $125 and more time than I was ever willing to put into it. The old owner didnt start up a new one with the same database, but the supposed "$40/month income" Has been at best $5/month, Im just counting that as unrecoupable money.

iv been scamed $1.99 USD from a ebay auction, for 10 gmail invites, they guy never sent them, and never replyed to all my emails

I was Scammed ( if you can call it that ) for $600 my old website developer deleted one of my sites after i had a buyer for it he didnt backup any of the files.
It was quite annoying and i was very stressed through that time but thats the way things go sometimes.

wow lots of people been scammed, luckily its never happend to me.

I think the golden rule is never put up what you cant afford to lose, failing that you could always write this at the end of your emails

Been scammed by : 2 attorneys, 2 courts, 1 local policeman, 6 foreign policemen, 2 parking officers, 2 local governments, 3 registrars, 4 registrar resellers, 1 domain seller, 3 ebay buyers of real goods, 1 ebay seller of real goods, 1 ebay buyer of virtual goods, 1 script writer, 2 php script sellers, 2 telephone companies, 3 ISPs, 1 electricity company, 1 natural gas company, 2 insurance companies, 88 beggars, 4 real estate agents, 1 host, 1 politician, 4 good friends, 1 work mate, 1 business partner, 2 used car salesmen, 1 plumber, 2 electricians, 1 signwriter, and 15 employees .

Besides those $300 I posted on the first page, I forgot one more: a $110 MOTOROLA RAZR from a guy from Canada. He had a Premium PayPal account, and he even talked to me on the phone, so I trusted him. 2 weeks later, no phone and already 3 neg. feedbacks from others. So, a complaint was filed and I got $100 out of $110 back

not really a scam to me as such my very first host was a reseller and the person he was selling for started charging loads more my host refused to pay then the server owner just switdched it off and deleted everything with no warning, so i lost 3 months worth of hosting although my reseller host tried everything i could and i would still go back to him if he started up again

Good advice.
Stick with Escrow.com, always treat every transaction as though it could be a scam.
