I use blogger and it works great for me. Wordpress does have more tools but for starters I find blogger easier to set up, especially for adsense.

Both Wordpress and Blogspot have their own good and bad but i would prefer WordPress compare to blogspot.

If you use your own hosting then go for Wordpress. It's lot better than Blogger.

If you are eventually thinking about moving your site from blogger to wordpress, wouldn't it be easier to start with the basics using wordpress and learn as you go? It really isn't that hard to figure these out and have great looking sites. You can do it!

i usually prepare blogger when i'm doing blog for free, but if youwnt your blog to be in paid hosting i recommend wordpress.
