A few things. ON ebay the bid is something like 20$. on the actuall website it is asking $5,000. And as for the millions of hits a week..... it doesn't look like it to me :P.

And then you have to wonder how many of those afternic hits have been folks checking the domain after seeing the eBay auction ;)

I've gone cynical...

It's extremely popular as a keyword... gets a whopping 11-12 searches per day on Wordtracker and Overture. :|

I certainly don't know the owner, nor would I imply that he/she is doing this, but creating a fake account to get lots of "scam" traffic (Folks thinking they are preventing a scam/checking up on a scam/etc.) is a semi-cheap efficient way of generating uniques and traffic, apparently...

Looks like the "wait and see" option is the favorite, thanks folks :)

At least it's gone, I'm not surprised if more domains like this appears on eBay that don't actually belong to the seller.

They advertise the site on ebay for such low costs, that it gets people like us to visit their sites. He probably got a good 1k unique hits just from advertising it on ebay.
