Hello everyone,

I’m a design student currently developing this website http://www.islamicarchitecture.org - The site theme was created by the Admin when he first published the site; I have made several modifications to the site and will be doing more work on it. I noticed many people here have provided some great feedback to others and I would like you all to go-ahead and criticize the website, constructively, based on the Technical use of the navigation, the content structure, design aesthetics, and interactivity.

Well I'm no designer or programer, but that is a really nice site. I like the layout and the unique content is presented well. Also, the free wallpaper is a good touch.
Although, I like to see the support for the Tsunami victims. I don't care for the info outside the frame on the right, think it should be in it. Suggestion: It would be a smoother expierience for the user if the music continued from page to page uninterrupted.

The logo "islamic architecture" can use some work.. There's too much white space on the top part of the page. It'd look real good if you could have a transparent picture behind the logo.. and across the whole top. (It'd prob be hard to do though).

Also, the flash starts off pretty badly. Just stick with the pictures, get rid of the "welcome" part.

There isn't really anything to critcize about your website but the Islamic Architecture part in the logo should be just a little bit bigger

robertjr, if I run the music on all the site, then I need to provide options to mute sound. some sort of a control button on a page header. Should I include options for i.e. 3 sound tracks to play, or just the one?

As toompas noted, there’s allot of white space. I inserted the right menu for the Tsunami information and adds in part to cover the white space. Before, the site was on centered on the screen. I wonder if i should place it back on center and make the border width bigger...

I feel the logo/header need more work like you and Excel9 noted. toompas, how do you think the flash should start? Should I let the visitor start it? Please elaborate

I think it'd be fine if your flash started with an image, then flipp through 2-3 different ones with nothing else. It wouldn't really take much away if you got rid of the flash and just add one image.

The white space on the right isn't so bad. Webusers are used to that sort of design. (and it lets those pesky 800-600 res people view everything).

The alignment is different....I don't know if it's good or bad....it's just different. Take that however you'd like.

I also think the flash should just start w/ images and no "Welcome to the site"

The more that I look at it, the more I think it might be better if it was centered w/ ads and tsunami stuff along the bottom or something.

But the design is nice...quite a fine job.

I updated the header to get rid of the white space.
I will be moving the sound from flash onto the whole site.
I will be removing the text at start of flash.
I moved Tsunami text into border.
Please let me know what you think.
