If they ever legalized online gambling in the states, then perhaps my domain would have some value.

It's a long domain name, though.

When I bought it, I didn't realize that gambling ads were not allowed on US sites.

Doh!

This isn't true at all, it all depends on the site. Just take a look at one of the gambling industry 'rags', Gambling911.com | Online Sportsbooks - Online Casinos - Online Poker Rooms. They're based in the US and are using a .com, yet they're plastered with gambling ads.

Okay, I see, on actual sites ads are okay.

I have never seen a gambling ad on Google, at least from the US.

I see a few from here (Eastern Europe) but not that many.

Well yeah, none of the 'big guys' will touch gambling ads in the US.

Nooo, experienced buyers are doing deals far, far worse than this, even as I type right now. It's actually not a bad buy, and you should at least get your money back, even from another domainer. If that fails, try Bill Cosby.

-----------

1) Buying WOW

2) Starting out with too much capital [yes, you read that correctly]

3) Having the naive assumption that interesting/original is what would make the best money in this game. It does not (as a rule). Boring cliches pwn this biz. If I see another 'My' domain sale break 8k, the furniture gets it
