I agree. i think the name could still have gone for more....but on the other hand, i have seen alot of domainers underselling this year.

Might have been a cheap price, say, 2 years ago - but, this is the price today. In the market today. By definition, that makes it the 'right' price, imo...not a cheap, or high, price.

Sometimes we make the mistake of thinking that market prices - for anything - have a 'floor'. And, if we sell at a price below the 'floor' of, say, 2 years ago, we sold it 'cheap'. They don't. Prices for goods & services are infinitely variable - determined by supply, demand, and capacity to pay. They go down, as well as up....And, they may be at either price level for an indefinite time.

In truth, despite the so-called 'science' of domain value - comparisons, and metrics, and potential traffic, etc etc etc - the reality is, there's no law of market pricing that says RSS.com was a cheap buy, imo. It is what it is.

Today's buyer took a punt on future value - or, future value he could create with development - and only a future price for the domain will tell us whether, or not, today's buyer got it cheap, or not.

When any of us buy any domain - at any price - we're all punters, and guesstimators, imo...

Sad but true.
