I paid via paypal. I just emailed Mr. Wolfe and told him I wanted a refund.

I did get it by the way.

Guys, how exactly did you get in touch with that "Mr. Wolfe"?

The server is down yet once again so I might as well close my account and be done with it. Already moved all my main sites out of there so all that's left now is to move the remainder and get my refund.

Any help would be appreciated

Actually, in my long experience here at NP, such situations have recurred at least once a year - examples: nationhosts, ihosty, npserve, etc. Some of these have over 30 pages of posts and as you read through them you can actually chart out a graph of the boom, bust and echo. Someone introduces "cheap" prices, everyone jumps the bandwagon, owner disappears, loses data or sells out, and everyone is upset and leaves. Then the cycle starts again once another person decides to make their fly-by "company".
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=606892

It seems some never learn that when the prices are too good to be true, they are really taking a risk. Not to mention, many of the hosts here on NP are likely not even registered as legal businesses and have people under the age of 18 running them with no liability. One should be cautious choosing a webhost that has proper business practices and policies in place if you want to avoid the frustration when something goes awry.

Hey all, I see where your coming from PolurNET, however I wouldn't say all hosts owned by people under the age of 18 are "bad", I myself have owned a few web hostings and I think I did well from a customers point of view.

anyway...you can contact the owner on....

I would have to disagree with you on that one PolurNET. And I'm offended you'd make this post in a thread about Fused Hosting.

This situation is completely different to "everyone jumping on the bandwagon for a cheap host then the owners disappearing" or "sells out". Everyone jumped on the bandwagon while me and Jack ran the show for over 3 years. While we are both barely under 17, we were a registered business with absolutely no negative reputation regarding Fused and no unhappy customers (perhaps one or two which were misunderstandings and resolved), and all the proper legalities, policies and practices. Fused's reputation was unblemished for 3 years.

As of such, I'd consider it great ignorance in your part to attempt to "put down" other NP hosts, just to better your own public opinion. Fused was not a budget host who offered thousands of gigabytes of space, on an intel atom VPS from China for $5/mo, with 1000 customers on it. We found the balance between affordable prices, and the best customer service possible. And because of that, I'm shocked that you can suggest that we sold it out just like all the other fly-by companies. Jack and I have obligations in our lives that we must adhere to, and Fused was our baby. It is sad to see it like this, but we sold to the new owners because we believed that they would be able to pick Fused up and take it further; and by all means, they can. I do not know exactly what is happening. But they are resolving with the problem, and will continue to do so until it is fixed.

I honestly didn't direct this post to you or your company, since many of the facts I said don't apply to you (only to the ones I mentioned in the e.g.). I was directly referring to someone's comment regarding this being the "biggest" loss, and I merely said that there's usually a pattern from my experience. You're obviously not part of this pattern, so you don't need to read-in to what I said. Sorry if I wasn't clear about this.

And regarding my age comment (under 18), the only thing to keep in mind is that there is no legal liability for minors in most jurisdictions. It does not imply at all that making a company under 18 is bad, but customers should be aware of the potential implications when signing up with any company.

Okay. Thanks for your additional comments. I understand the point you are making, but I just wished for it to be clear that it wasn't related to Fused, and didn't apply to it.

The age issue is an..age long debate. Personally, Fused was registered in a way that entitled us to operate due to certain prerequisites that exist in the process of registering. You make a very valid point and it's something people should be aware of.

You can't use that link when the server is down though.

Server has been down for 7 hours I believe now.

I've reached my breaking point, i'll be moving hosts and getting a refund today.

How hard is it to keep a server up? I honestly don't understand why once it would be sold, if it was the same server...why all of a sudden it would just be dead 1/4 of the time now.

I'm able to reach that link right now. If you are unable to reach it, I might suggest using a proxy service just in case your IP is blocked in a firewall or anything of that nature.

It could be an attack, or hard drive failure... Could be a customer that has a large database that fills up the hard drive. Any number of reasons, I'm afraid. Sorry, but I have no right to have the answer.
