Hmmm.. Don't think so Micro. I have already paid for a years worth of hosting in the last week with adsense.. if I can pay for the reg fee too, I'm happy. I have a lot of work to do to make it look nice, but in time... it could be a profitable site!

Thanks for your opinion though.... Actually, what IS your opinion based on? Maybe I should take heed..

go with your gut feeling i say , and if you learn something from this site that's great too

Dont forget there is an image page you can add ? remember there are different sets of pages , I chose the business one. Also if you can add more videos go to youtube and get some some guitar tricks videos .... i saw some good blues videos there the other day, it all adds up and if you can write you own articles that's a help as well

As you say there is a whole year to develop but ya gotta put some time into it , also try and add links from other good blues sites to yours and even contact some local bands and other to put their gigs on your site , hey saucy i drive a van and i have signs in the back to advertise my sites its cheap and effective !

Protect Our Planet
All domains have so called development potential but some are easier than others to brand and develop. In the .tv space and every extension for that matter, names are dropping all the time. In case and point regarding Blues Music, name wise it is a so-so name in my opinion. I am the owner of Bands.tv, Punk.tv and others and this is no Blues.tv, , Rap.tv etc

Again, all names have dev potential and I wish you the best of luck with it. The name alone however may not even fetch xxx.

Thanks SKG.

Do you really think blues.tv is better than BluesMusic.tv? I know in "classic" domainer terms, the shorter the better is rule of thumb when choosing a domain name. However, in this case I really thought that people looking for Blues Music on the net would probably type in BLUES MUSIC to their favorite search engine rather than just BLUES.

Maybe it's just me though... when I look for music online, I always type "music" with it.. ie.. classic music, blues music, country music... an exception might be .. rock and roll, but then again, I probably wouldn't even type that at all.. I would type Rock Music!

First off, no one in their right mind is going to sink cash into this extension.

The Versign™ contract is so secretive that no one knows exactly when it expires. Most place the date somewhere between 2012 and 2014. At that time, Tuvalu could pull a .SC or worse. They may decide they don't want us yanks registering their extension at all. They may decide to charge everyone $500 year for standard renewals. Since it's their ccTLD they will be able to do whatever they want. When Richard Rosenblatt figured this out, he bailed.

This is a ccTLD and that's about all it's good for now. It should be used as it was intended. If you live on the island and run a bait shop, go grab fishstop.tv.

Ohhhhhhh! Ok. I thought you were gonna slam "BluesMusic"... but your issue is with the extension.. >TV. Hmmm, well, there have been some rather large sales reported in the .TV world. As far as Tuvalu sinking.. guess we will have to wait and see. As far as Tuvalu raising reg fees to some ridiculous amount.. I don't think that would be in their best interest... People would start dropping their names like hotcakes and pretty soon with no new registrations and no renewals, .TV would indeed die and that poor little country would lose out on all of that revenue. I can't see that happening... Governments can be dumb.. but usually not when it comes to generating revenue.

Pertaining to the "objective" remark that one poster made: "First off, no one in their right mind is going to sink cash into this extension."

As Ben Franklin once quipped(to paraphrase), "it is the empty barrel that makes the most noise."

Why a person would want to denigrate and mock an honest person attempting to do business is amusing, to say the least. It does show a lack of business sense, common courtesy and class. But I would take those types of criticisms (not constructive at all!) with a grain of salt and venture your own path.

Good luck and i like the name as it fits the extension well!

Talk about derailing a thread!

From a man that was the self imposed "ruler of .TV" Weren't you the one who was going over to Tuvalu to live with the people of ????

Whatever works for you. Sideshows are a good thing I guess.

BluesMusic.tv sounds like it could be developed and be a name that is brandable. In saying that though, many names are and never make it.. Its up to your development or the person who buys it. Nothing is guaranteed IMO.

Yes... I think I'm leaning more towards "your camp" Evirtual. Thanks! Obviously, it needs a ton of work, but I think there is possibly some REAL potential there!

Reg fee at best. It's not good. Honestly, I can't see you ever selling it so perhaps develop a little.
