Rachel, I realize you are spending more time in this forum than before, you do have the luxury of being married to RJ, so you can easily ask him if what I wrote in another thread is true, Nonsense started three years ago, I got pms from many members, and I pmmed RJ told him what was going on, To be honest because of his relationship with Jeff, I thought he was going to tell me to get lost. The sub forum was new so that would have been fine I would have started a forum. RJ pmmed me back saying he would take care of everything and he did 100 %, the person who was hanging out post 0 to every thread was gone. Did not come back til I left as a mod.

If someone does not like the extension Rachel, that's fine, state it, start a thread, state all the reasons why, there has never been a forum that did as much as this forum, there was a Demand Media critique thread, A guide for newbies, stressing to watch premium pricing never pay more than $1000 for any name IMO. I have criticized .tv many times, but the people here are not stupid, there is a difference if a member of your club criticizes something, you know who they are, what they are about, someone you know has no interest but is looking to start trouble in a passive-aggressive way is completely different.

When someone like Argos who is in most people's opinion one of the nicest people they have ever met, leaves in disgust, forget my opinion that says a lot to a lot of people. Again people like Rodash,Bulldog,Millers have been critical over the years of the extension but as part of the community people took no bother.

I knew what I was doing when I started this forum, the first rule was there for a reason, and RJ always respected that (I HAVE THE PM'S TO PROVE IT) If you do not like .tv great. You have domain discussion to make all the negative .tv threads you like.

But forget .tv let's look at what Jeff has done in .mobi,in the VIP section with the five million uniques thread. There is a pattern here Rachel, No one except a newbie will answer him, I have pms,phone calls and emails from people who told me they will never reply to one word he asks, do your own research, use the search function on NP. Bottom line there is no interest, four years ago this person was upset there was a .tv forum he had to wait awhile to start his nonsense because while I was a mod and before RJ got bogged down with other things it would never fly like in .mobi.

It matters not to me Rachel, I have educated more people on .tv than anyone on the net. To not participate here is not a negative for me, but I think its nonsense someone going out of their way to be a disruptive force in a place that your husband and I were in full agreement how it was run.

That is correct, equity78 was given special permission to run this sub-forum under his own terms during his time as moderator. When he left, it was a management decision to bring it under the general forum rules. I believe this was the correct decision, even if it does result in a few members moving on to a new playground.

Thank you Ron. Now I think making it more in line with all the other areas is fine, the nonsense with Jeff IMO is not about that. You and I both know its not. Let him start a thread say what he does not like and move on because at the end of the day being a parrot about premium pricing is a joke, use the search function. Premium pricing has been discussed over and over, maybe I will do a new 2009 guide for newbies and you can sticky it RJ, and a naysayers thread and that can be stickied too. They can then stay out of other threads, and pro .tv can stay out of the naysayer thread.

RJ it is your site, and I always believe the site owner has the right to do what they want, its a private entity not a public service.

Everyone here who does not like the way things are is to blame for coming back, everything has been made clear, you have alternatives if you keep coming back here this is what you will have to put up with and no one to blame but yourself. Everything has been argued on both sides, its foolish to battle where there is not a level playing field, as only one side can ban members. So the ideological battle will move to multiple playing fields. Again I think our conversations have always been civil and respectful Ron and hope no hard feelings on your side, the other things/issues will be dealt with in the appropriate manner. Thank you

If I do that, then I cheat myself out of deciding whether or not his comments have any merit. Just like my posts, his(and Snoops et al) deserve to be read as well, and you do a good job allowing his posts to come through, even though it veers off course as it has been claimed mine have. If I deem it as QRM, that is my decision to make, no one else's.

I do not think I have to be told to ignore someone's post as well as watch what I write.

I really appreciate and grasp Shapers contribution to this discussion. We, myself first and foremost, need to focus on the extension and not the noise. We all need more creative thought and positive inputfor this extension. The term "this is no picnic" is false. This should be a picnic and we should have fun where we are at, ants and all. So, let's have fun and brainstorm, guys and gals!!

I really feel that this community needs to pull together or gather in a spot where some things can get done. I've got lots of irons in the fire and I think I saw one too many threads that started off as interesting and degenerated into finger pointing idiocy. The effective loss of the TV private forum was a setback. The loss of Argos, who I like and respect, was another.

I want this to be a fun place that works as a resource. The private Tv forum that previously existed was a much more valuable asset than the public forum precisely because the people involved were serious about their investments. There were disagreements, but they were handled with respect. It worked because conversations could run their course without degenerating into completely off topic arguments started for the simple pleasure of disruption.

I'm finding that I'm spending a lot more time developing, and when I come here I'm finding a lot more discord than is necessary. I can't say that encourages me to spend time here.

Whatever happens here, it is the right of the forum owners to choose how it is managed. It is also up to me to determine the amount of my own participation. If its a constructive environment, then I'm interested, if not, I have other things to do with my time.

While I realize there is a private forum, the post size limits make it extremely limited in utility. For practical purposes that leaves the public forum to handle in depth discussion, for better or worse. For the time being I will keep an eye on this place, but until the major issues are resolved, I do not expect to be a highly active participant. If this place pulls together, that is one thing, if it is run into the ground then that is another. I do not have a problem with constructive analysis or criticism, I do have a serious problem with negativity for the purpose of negativity.

EDIT: Apparently that post triggered someone's button. I am still in favor of increasing character count on the social groups. Looks like the tone has improved here some since posted. Hopefully that is a continuing trend.

Jeeze.. I spend a few months being pretty quiet on the forum front whilst concentrating on development of our core assets and I drop in here and its all hell seems to have broken out!

I just read all of the goings on.. people in private chats, people hating others, people beating their chests and people standing on the sidelines scratching their heads. All good things really in regards to how a forum works - it would be just be better that it happened all in one room.

To the Moderators.

Over the last year this forum has lost many great members. I mean members with incredible portfolios and incredible insight to business. I am in touch with many of them as I too hold a large portfolio and do business with some of them.

The majority of these major players would like a forum to discuss their passions and help others grow the brand. They used to have it here until the water was poisoned with old trolls.

This forum needs very strong moderation. It needs a moderator who will not cower to the "old members".. It needs a moderator who will kick bully's out on their asses and banish them if they post one bad post.

Millers Crossing is the perfect example why this place needs to be hosed out and revamped. This guy like many other "old trolls" prance around here like they are something special, yet they have very little to offer newer members other than comparing penis size in relation to their portfolios.

Whilst .tv is growing globally, the only true .tv forum is slowly dying a sad death.

Banish these guys to their own room and ban em from posting on the public board.. make them tow the line.

i've changed my views since 2006 on what i think the .mobi section at namepros should be.. basically even though there are .mobi and .tv, etc subforums.. this board is a general domain discussion which includes the subforums... so really if you want to do the like minded people thing you have to create an outside forum. yea, some people will say they're "quitting namepros" or <insert forum here> but really there is no need to do that.. there can exist the best of both worlds. i still think <1 person> here trolls the .TV subforums.. there is no real reason why you cant just say what you really mean without baiting people and acting like a robot.
