[REQ-LOGO] - "logo needed" - $50 , $20 "second place" :-) - Page 2

Color Requirements : Simple colors. Needs to look good in Greyscale in addition to color, so simply bold colors are best.

After considering my entry, I decided to revise to 'bolder' colors.

Looking forward to seeing who wins this contest!

Thanks so much for all the entries; I am always impressed by the quality of work NP can bring to the table!

Comments are below, and I apologize that I am not a designer so I may not get all of the terminology correct.

SirEdeonX:
Cool idea to incorporate wings as the highlighting feature to the text, but it comes across as to casual for the genre (angel investing), although (and this will be a theme in the comments) it would make a great Charlotte Biker-Bar or strip club logo ;-)

Zepia:
Like the colors, the text is plain and clear, but I don't understand the feather? The feather with the halo (Assuming angel feather) seems to be redundant, and the logo may even be too ordinary. Never thought I'd see the day I said something was too plain/reserved.

I like the lettering, even if the colors don't exactly go together without the gray background it is still well put together, but again feels like it could be a biker-logo just as much as an investment club's logo.

If it was completely up to me I'd just use the state of NC with the halo that you have there, but another group already uses that exact logo (Just coincidence, no one has a monopoly on ideas!) so I'm forced to look elsewhere.

Nitro:
Amazing logo. Absolutely beautiful and the wings look straight out of a Hellboy dream (Great franchise.). Only issue is that it could turn-off some of the more "traditional" members of the group (See how I'm diplomatic here?

), and is just too avant garde (sp?) for me.

Similar comment as to Darbs above - I love the state outline as part of the logo. The font chosen was hard for me to get past, but without the font providing the interest I'm not sure what else could, if that makes sense. Clean and well done, but would either be boring or tacky, not much of a middle ground

The first to do a skyline! And having the halo go around the buildings in addition to the "A" were cool ideas, and the colors and design show a great deal of style. The "deal-breaker" here for me was that when my wife saw it the first words out of her mouth were "I didn't know you were opening a sandwich shop!" Great logo, but fits as a fun place for the family to eat, not to invest ;-)

My first note is that your watermark is actually difficult for me; I couldn't really pickup what was watermark as watermark, and what were design highlights. I hope it just isn't my monitor. Blocked/outlined lettering here puts too much emphasis on the words as words rather than as a logo, but good on making "Angels" more important than "Charlotte."

Keep it up - not learning illustrator (or how to draw, period.) is one of my compugrets! (Those are "computer regrets," for those who were wondering.) I don't want to be too obnoxious with the "$" symbols, even if that is our goal

Too small for me to know for sure, but are the blue and black half-squares supposed to be letters, or just there to bring in the colors from the words? Pretty, but I'd need the blocks to serve some function other than highlighting wings.

I could definitely see this working out with a few revisions, but it was submitted too late in the day for any PM back-and-forth - that angel is clean and follows the concept I was shooting for, and is positively well done and unique. Great design, great design.

Allen - thanks for the feedback. It's funny - I probably have a few hundred hours exp working with photoshop, but illustrator... like a fish out of water, lol.

I'll keep at it though for sure.
