By the way, I agree with you ... the ".TV", and Geo's in particular, are in fact struggling IMHO.

Hi Jim, you mentioned a 2-year ROI for the same domain name in another thread, as well as developing it if it didn't sell in another post ... are you still planning on developing it, and if not, I would add that its best days (for resale / undeveloped) are now well passed, IMHO.

Best of Luck.

Jeff,

I been approached by a big buyer of .tv today regarding Spain.tv. Let's see what happens and that would change things regarding 2 year plan and it could turn into a 30 day plan.

Also, I do plan on developing about 3 .tv names. These 3 would include from the list of Religion.tv, Actor.tv, GrandCanyon.tv Europe.tv, Moscow.tv, Bahamas.tv, Espanol.tv, Skating.tv, Track.tv, Exercises.tv, Laughlin.tv, and a few others.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/dot-tv/583439-june-4-is-this-tipping-point.html

If I got real good offers prior to kicking off development than I would sell. If not, than I got to move ahead. My problem is lack of time on things. I am a stay at home dad with 18 month twins who works out of my house. I am very lucky to make a living on the internet while I hang out with my twin girls everyday and since my wife works out of the house, I don't have much time and development is very time consuming.

Therefore, that is my situation for me right now and I will keep you posted.]

Thanks, Jim

That is what I'm saying Jim. When a know entity enters the space or a high sale happens, the buzz will return. Geo DOT TV is fine. Alot is happening. Not everything is pubic.

I would vote Bahamas.TV as #1 on that list. Top International Vacation Destination. Second would be Moscow.TV and third either Religion.TV or Actor.TV

The bIGGest laugh I have had in ages on this forum.

Intentional or not - thanks George for a bloody good laugh!!!

PS The auction had FAIL written all over it from the start. It has NOTHING to do with peoples and corporations desire to create internet TV. Indeed, who knew it was happening but wannabe domainers - certainly not endusers.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=583439

If someone from the Spanish Tourist Office marketing department knew of this auction I would be impressed - indeed, I would eat my hat (if I had one)

End of this pubic notice!

Well, my comment was directed at one of the biggest a_sine comments I've ever read on this board - the fact that geo dot tv is stuggling because someone didn't spend mid $XX,XXX on a geo country is wacked.

A top 10 US Geo DOT TV sold for $25,000 never reported. Detroit.TV sold, unreported, SanDiego.TV sold, unreported. Louisville.TV - unreported. The only reason MyrtleBeach.tv got reported was because I said something. All the above I'm sure were $10,000+

Two years ago, geo was stuggling. Raleigh.TV was sold for $500. VirginiaBeach.TV $500. Wichita.TV - $600, StLouis.TV - $2,000, and I could go on and on. Also, Dallas.TV, Charlotte.TV, Indianapolis.TV, Jacksonville.TV, Boise.TV, and many other geo dot tvs were unregged premiums - most at $1,000 a year. Why? - because few valued geo dot tv.

Today, those domains won't sell for anything less than $25,000 each.

I don't see how that is struggling.

In the US, between the Dr, Fin, myself, Berke, Sanchay, and Chris Kuba - you have the following: NewYork.TV, LosAngeles.TV, SanFrancisco.TV, Dallas.TV, WashingtonDC.TV, Houston.TV, SanDiego.TV, KansasCity.TV, Cleveland.TV, Cincinnati.TV, StLouis.TV, Minneaspolis.TV, Austin.TV, Indianapolis.TV, Atlanta.TV, Seattle.TV, Charlotte.TV, Memphis.TV and I could go on and on

That is six people who control most of the top us geos.

I don't see any domainer penetrating this oligarchy without spending $20,000+ to purchase a US Geo DOT TV.

I'm done with selling. Fin doesn't sell. Dr wants $250,000 min, and I don't sell the others selling for anything less than $20,000 (if not alot more).

That doesn't sound like struggling because I don't know of a single US GEO DOT TV that is currently on the market.

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=583439
Countries - look Associated Cities - the dominant DOT COM geo club was about cities - until last year. City was viewed as being the most valuable geo domains. We can debate this until the cows come home (country vs state vs city), but I still argue that because a country dot tv didn't sell for $25,000 says that the market isn't there yet.

When it doesn't sell for $2,500 - then I agree - it is stuggling.

^ Fair enough, all the best with your new offer(s) and/or your development plans for the prime Geo Spain.tv domain Jim!

Thanks, too, for the honest & candid addition to the .TV discussion here, Clips.TV!
Kind regards,

End user demand for domains even .COMs is still limited as many small businesses just don't see the logic of paying hundreds of dollars or more for a domain. A fair number of small businesses don't even have websites. .TV demand has an even more limited user group so there are far fewer sales than .COM. SEDO's Q1 report on domain sales covered many alternate extensions and country code TLDs. .TV was not even mentioned.

But a strong keyword domain is great for SEO and branding. Given that domainers will rarely offer more than $250 for even the best domain, why not have limited competition when it comes to catching drops? I see .COM drops going from hundreds to even a few thousand dollars at times while .TVs can normally be obtained for less than $200. Who needs a large group of .TV enthusiasts bidding up prices? A year and a half ago I don't believe I had even one .TV domain and yet I'm sure there are some who would admit that given my limited experience with the extension that I have some nice Spanish .TVs. And perhaps a few years from now a stronger end user market will emerge.

EXACTLY! I had a wedding officiant in Buffalo, NY last week, I noticed her website was a some long domain dot com. I told her to reg BuffaloOfficiants.com and BuffaloOfficiant.com is available. reg that ASAP so that you could get SEO advantage for people searching for buffalo officiants or buffalo wedding officiants.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=583439

You won't believe how many wedding officiants, wedding coordinators, home improvement contractors, counselors, pet sitters, pet trainers, fitness trainers, nutritionists, and even pest control companies that DON'T have a web site.

Those that have a website have screwy domain names, some use subdirectories, and more when the primary search term dot com, dot net, dot tv is sitting unregged.
